Where are you finding all these wrecked CRD's? CRD owners in Colorado dob't know how to drive? What are you going to salvage from that one?

Too many people try to keep the stock tires
they're bad in Texas weather
they're accidents waiting to happen in Colorado snows

Either that, or the right front ball joint let go, with subsequent events occuring due to loss of steering control - 'bout the right mileage for that

Good suggestion, I have one myself. It is slightly less serious though.

It's because they cannot control the POWER of the CRD!!! :D

AH-MEN TO THAT!!!! Back in May when I was in TX for the graduation of my friend's daughter, those Crapyears slid like snot on a glass door knob on one of the main streets in San Marcos. Right after a thunderstorm, lady in a Lincoln Navigator pulled out in front of me trying to do a left turn across 2 opposing lanes of traffic and just froze when she saw me 4 car lengths away. 35 mph, hit the brakes, ABS chattering away, may as well have been on roller skates for all the traction those Goodyears had - right into her quarter panel and smashed up my front end.

When I put the Coopers on a few weeks back, my father asked me why I got rid of the Goodyears when they still had good tread on them and only 25K miles. I told him point blank "Because they're a piece of s### tire that's worthless on a wet road, and I had to get my front end rebuilt because of that!".

Still, gotta give these little beasts credit for being pretty tough in an accident.

Yep, in my case it was mainly plastic that had to be replaced - only sheet metal was the hood and center support bracket where the hood latch is mounted - didn't even scratch up the headlights. Drove it 1300 miles back home before getting it repaired, and it still managed to get 30ish mpg even with the screwed up aerodynamics.

The side of that Lincoln Navigator, especially where those front tow hooks dug in - well, let's just say it was pretty ugly.

Looks like it rolled over, I'd say thats why.

Seriously though, if there wasnt a frontal impact then there wouldnt be a reason to blow an airbag up in your face.

Are you going to bid on it? If not let me know where it is, I will go bid....I want the motor for a little "project"
Looks like it had a temp tag on it too, new to the owner....

I want the motor for a little project as well(though I will not be bidding on this one), however it is harder for me to bid in utah and I dont feel like spending the money just yet to bid with the auction house.

if you want its listed through iaai.com, let me know if you are serious about bidding on it, I've been looking for someone to share the cost of the bidders account with.
