Can anyone tell me about a MPG loss/gain/same when switching from the stock tires to the Revo's? I'm thinking of getting them but not if it's going to cost me a lot in terms of MPG's.
I'd love to know the answer for the same stock size (235/70/16) and for the next up which is what I'd like to get (245/70/16.)
Thanks!
Any change in tire size will add weight. Added weight will reduce your mileage. Also the A/T tire, any brand, is stronger than the stock tire or more ruggedly constructed and will hurt your MPG a teeny little bit.
When I switched from my stock goodyears to my Firestone's, I lost about .5MPG overall. But I am very happy I gave up that tiny little bit of mileage just to get a little more all around security from my tires.
Stock Tire
GoodYear RS-A
235/65/16
Mileage per tank: 230 - 245 miles
Mostly City / Some Highway
Drive to work Vehicle
New Tire
Firestone Destination
235/65/16
Mileage per tank 225 - 240 miles
Same driving route, habbits and patterns
I'd imagine the Revo to be nearly identical
