Any change in tire size will add weight. Added weight will reduce your mileage. Also the A/T tire, any brand, is stronger than the stock tire or more ruggedly constructed and will hurt your MPG a teeny little bit.

When I switched from my stock goodyears to my Firestone's, I lost about .5MPG overall. But I am very happy I gave up that tiny little bit of mileage just to get a little more all around security from my tires.

I have a set of LT245/75/16 C Load Revos on my CRD and they have been really good on road in both dry and wet weather and in snow too. Off-road they have been great in everything except lots of mud. In Colorado, we have lots of rocky trails and the Revos have held up great and have good traction. I've only torn up one tire so far and that wasn't the tires fault. Never had a set of mud tires, but really like the look and what I hear of the performance of Moab wheels and MTRs and so might have to try that next.

Have 18000 on my Revo's(CRD). Wish I kept the Wranglers. I was getting 25mpg before I changed to the Revo's at 2000 miles and have never got better than 23 at best ever since. Should be getting high 20's with 21000 miles in my CRD. Besides I have a long arm TJ w/35" Trxus tires to take off road now (10mpg). Other than that the tires are still in pretty good condition.
Anyone close to Superior Wisconsin I would be interested in your stock 16" Wranglers.
