What kind of a move is that? They are almost done with the kit for the WK (05 GC) and XK (Commander) but nothing new about the KJ??? What Crap! Sorry for the rant but im PO'ed!!!!! Anyone know if this kit might actually fit on the KJ?

I read somewhere else on the board that Superlift states the market is bigger for the Grand and Commander (since they share a lot of parts) so they can control costs better to start. If the lift does well, they will then produce one for the Liberty.

Probably for looks like the KJ kit was.... that's why they aren't pursing a KJ more, they already spent time and $ and came up with a POS lift.

Thanks Clint. It irritates me to no end that Superlift has been "working" on the KJ lift for what seems to be ages and they go off and build a kit for the WK/XK. I would have thought that a kit wouldent come out for them for another 2-3 years. Seems like the companies are still in the "KJ dosent have enough market yet" thought. Ahh this is killing me because we have sooo much potential and no resources to do it! Anyway, does anyone know if this kit will work on the KJ?

I think that if everyone that reads this, calls superlift everyday, then maybe they will realize that we are serious about our KJ's and that they are coming up in the world of offroading. People are in thier garages working on somthing new everywhere and if superlift dosn't hurry someone will figure out how to get a bigger lifts on our jeeps and then its good bye to the money that would have been in superlifts pocket.

Please don't harrass the vendors. Superlift is well aware of how many enthusiastic KJ owners we have here at L.O.S.T. and every minute they spend on the phone with us is one less minute they have to spend working on new lift kits. The same goes for any other company that is designing parts for the KJ.

If you'd like to find other vendors that aren't currently working on KJ products and convince them to start making something for us then by all means do so, but we don't want to waste our supporters' time.

I'm starting to doubt that they will ever come out with this lift, so I don't put them in the list of vendors who are supporting us.

Hoss...Superlift has been building great lifts for years. big deal, they effed up ONE LIFT KIT. ONE. Their lifts are on 6 of my buddy's rigs, and to not allow them ONE screw up (and i don't even know how badly it's screwed up, it could be as simple as revalving their shocks/struts or a spring rate issue) for how many HUNDREDS of different vehicles they've got kits out for is just inane.

I, personally, applaud them for the GC and Commander lifts, and that Commander is baaaaaaaaaad. i can't wait to see it in action.

a unibody IFS rig is tough to lift, and the Liberty was the FIRST unibody IFS rig that sold in significant enough numbers for a company to even bother lifting it. Remember the first unibody Pathfinder? Yeah, bud, how many lifts are out for IT?

seriously, you need to chill, there's still the frankenlift, rusty's, and several others. you think it's hard to find aftermarket stuff for your Liberty, you need to go try to find some junk for a first gen Isuzu Trooper, and IT has been around for 22 years!

Hi, I think you guys should remember that the majority of people who buy KJ's are just buying it for around town and a daily commuter. I also think if anyone is into moderate 4x4ing with the KJ they are prob part of this forum which doesn't really equate into a great volume of off roader drivers. How many members to do we have here anyway?
I'm not sure if I owned a company I would want to invest all that money into research and design for the KJ knowing that they would not be selling to a huge volume group. Don't get me wrong I want to MOD out my KJ like the rest of you and I wish we had more options but thats the way the industry crumbles.I mean cookie.. Just my thoughts...- :wink:

As I try to collect the parts I think I need to give a true 5 inch lift for the front of our Libertys, I have found that it is becoming very expensive. This is why it has taken me such a long time to get things rolling (pun intended). I got a price on a sub frame from the dealer (I can get it cheaper) of $528. I will most likely be cutting it up to figure out how to make a sub frame spacer. Thats a lot of money for me, and if I screw up, its $528 worth of scrap! Then you have the the other componets that will go along with the lift. The rear was relatively simple and it still took me 14 hours to fab something (including a 5 hour screw up) and about $150 in parts excluding the special rear arms I already had on the KJ.

When we run bigger tires will the rack stand up? If it don't the Grand rack out of a hemi Jeep may work(?). The front diff is another problem, I just put a search out for a used late model Grand front diff. I believe they are steel, with alum. axel tubes. The one I ordered about 3 months ago is still on back order. I am looking at this as a possible direct swap. I still have that Dana 44 pumpkin with the U-joint stubs. But that is going to take a lot of expensive fabrication to make that work. I have even been toying with the idea of taking the Warn locking hub kit conversion for the straight Dana 30 and trying to adapt it to the Liberty. All this takes time and a lot of money.

For me, it's a fun challenge. For the Lift companies it's money, and if they can't sell them, they just blew a big share of profits! And even though we are gaining respect, our KJ's are still considered by most as mall rated, soccer mom, on-road pavement pounders. So what I am trying to say, is give the manufactures a break, and if you need to bug them, do it kindly and respectly ask if they will coinsider a lift kit. I think the real problem will be the cost. Will we as KJ owners be willing to pay say $2000.00 for a kit that will allow us to run bigger tires, and possibly break every componet of the front drive system while doing it. This is what I think the manufactures have in the back of their minds.

WKs and Commanders are pavement pounders too! The difference is, you are going to get more posers with $$$$ to spend on cosmetic lifts for those vehicles than you are with KJs. Think about all those lifted bling bling H2s out there.
