LOL, I might want to buy those Samco hoses as the original hoses of mine doesn't have "socks/boots" and they are about to wear through my plastic coolant container.

There's a danish store who can ship Samco hoses to me. I want to ask them for a price shipped to Denmark. Most likely they don't know that these exist, yet.

got thi this morning about the samco hoses from samco and explains the cost better

Hello Guys,

This is just a quick update to let you know what the progress is with the CRD hoses from SamcoSport.

We have had a trial set manufactured and on test in the U.S with one of the guys on the forums, he has reported that the hose has some minor clearance issues which will be resolved by the end of the month with a minor tooling modification.

The suggested retail cost of the hoses will be $299.98 this is quite expensive due to the hoses needing to be manufactured using a Flurosilicone liner. The use of this liner will prevent degradation caused by the high volume of oil mist passing through the hoses, and thus improve the lifespan of the hoses.

As soon as I have the exact release date I will contact you via email again.

Thank you for your patience,

Regards and best wishes for the New Year,

Mark.

I got the same email this AM. $299.98 is a little steep for me.

Samco apparently does not sell direct to the consumer.

Surely someone out here can find a vendor who'd be willing to provide a group purchase deal on these specific hoses. If we could get 20% -- 30% off that should leave plenty of profit for the vendor. Samco gets their asking wholesale price. We get an attractive enough price for many more to participate. A win-win-win for everyone. The closer the final price is to $200 the more buyers we'd likely get to participate. Put me down today for a set at 20% or better discount.

Your mission, if you choose to accept it, is to approach an insider at a Samco vendor who would like to pick up a quick, easy pre-paid sale of a bunch of these newly available hose kits, and put a bug in their ear! Or a bee in their bonnet! lol This tape will self-destruct in 10 seconds! :)

My wife better not hear this....$300 and then some to get them in Spain...and I don't know if they'll fit the old 2.5...

:( :(

Sir Sam: does SAMCO want their samples back? Or can I get those? For the cost of shipping? I'll then know for sure if they fit or not and SAMCO can then sell them worldwide ready for 2.8 and 2.5...

I don't think they've released the PN just yet. It does not yet show up on their web site (www.samcosport.com).

Surely someone will post the PN here as soon as it is available.

Keep in mind that the list prices are like $125 and $155, with most online prices being about $90 and $125.

Basically what it means is that if you have a sudden and catastrophic failure you'll either be stuck paying full retail from a dealer(dont get much chance to bicker on the price when you need them and your 1000 miles fro home eh), and just eat the cost at about $275+tax. Or you might get luckly and either be able to get the dealer down to the online price, which would be about $210. I get probably the best discount on new parts you can and for me the cost would be about $150.

Basically, if you get stuck paying full retail because you NEED the part, it would have been wise to buy the samco hoses. If you get luckly and can wait a few weeks for the hoses to show from an online vendor youll pay about 2/3 of the cost of the samco hoses.

IMO any way you look at it, if you plan to keep the vehicle for 100k miles I think the samco hoses will pay for themselves.

Uh, yes, thats what I've been saying all along, with a Samco vendor, we will see who will be willing to give us the best price, and who would be willing to ship overseas, we will have to take all those factors into account.

The problem is I have 1 loose hose, I am hoping that whatever vendor we get will be willing to sell its mate so I can make a complete set.

I think that the part numbers are shown in the picture, I think TCS-380 is the hose kit part no.

the older 2.8, I think what we were seeing is that the 2.5 has a different PN, so we are not sure if they will work.

Well, thats good to know, but I wouldn't guarantee that they fit to anyone wanting to buy them until someone like yourself personally tries it and can make the assurance.

just was at jeep dealers parts department and 2002 2.5 crd liberty up 2.8 turbo hoses are the same in lenght and shape, only ones that are different are 2007 models
i had both hose kits on counter for 2.5 and 2.8 and we both measured them and checked the shape, all 2007 models are slightly different
so if you want to be safe, any crd model in 2.5 and 2.8 from 2002 to 2005 are made by same and same in all ways

hope this helps
cant do no more for you guys

Count me on in the group buy. I just had a replacement a few months back, and am already having issues, so I'd prefer to get a better hose in place.

Thanks.
