Those bolts are what holds it on to the mounting bracket from what I have seen so far.

The PIAA 510's I can get you for $210 dollars, with the purchase of a bumper of course :D and the smaller ones I need to check my price again

Kj sport : Correct I am just stating that it is welded in multiple places even when I build tube bumpers I run the mounts all the way through.

dloc : Those bolts are where the bumper is mounted to the mounting bracket, in a good collision the mounting bracket will take some impact and bend allowing you to be able to replace the bracket and not the entire unit ( in some cases) They are 1/2" grade 8 bolts.

The way the design is and the thickness of material it is more than sufficient to just weld the shackle mounts to the face but you have to know how steel fabrication works. going all the way through is just a precaution. For example the equipment I work on hauls hundreds of thousands of pounds on a daily basis and the mounting points for tie down are never all the way through it takes the proper amount of beveling and preheating to do the job correctly. As a matter of fact to cut it out and go throught in a lot of situations actually weakens the material yo are welding it to.

So to each his own I guess the pros know. :D

I have to agree with this statement. It appears to be well taking into consideration form and function.

Also he is filling orders which is always a plus. 8)

JHCRASH - Any future plans? Are you operating out of your own shop? Are you focusing on just the liberty and what about supply and demand issues because this product will sell?

At this point I do not have my own shopI want to see how they sell first I am looking at a few places but it is not really an option right now I hope to be in my own shop in a couple months though. Right now it is just the liberty I plan on doing other vehicles as well I just have to cover everything for the liberty first.

Great lookin' bumper!

Troyster, I might have missed it, but any idea on how much clearance you gained? Also, maybe you could post a couple of before/after front shots next to each other.

To be honest, I don't think I improved my approach angle at all, but I had already cut away my bumper to open up the area in front of my tires. So, now I have the same clearance I had before, but with a real bumper.

So, my reasons for choosing this bumper were:
1) I wanted to replace my hacked up bumper and keep the approach angle I gained from hacking it up.
2) I like shackles better than tow hooks.
3) I wanted a front receiver in case I decide to get a receiver-mounted winch (which is looking more likely).
4) I love the appearance of the bumper.
5) I got to be a guinea pig and save a bunch of $$$ 8).
6) It was very convenient to have it installed 20 minutes from my house.
7) I had crushed my aftermarket fogs last year at Moab, so I needed to get new ones and figure out a way to keep them from getting crushed again.

And, as I've said before, I don't have any hard evidence, but I'm inclined to believe that the RL front bumper has a better approach angle than this one. But this one is probably better than the ARB bumper because it doesn't stick out as far. Hopefully we can do some side-by-side comparisons at Moab in March.

Unfortunately, I can't find any really good "before" shots to match up with "after" shots, but maybe this will help:

May just be the pictures but it appears that this bumper hangs down farther than my ARB does?? How thick is it in the middle?

Hey thanks Troy, comparing the side by side of the front looks like you gained a couple of inches in height clearance. The second set with the side shots is hard to tell, but looks like it may extend out a little farther.

Has the idea of a winch mounting plate been given the kabash? It's hard to tell what type of distance is available, but maybe adding a plate similar to the KJ Backbone might work. Also, is there any news on their rockrails?

All in all it looks great.

why not round out the top of the turn signal housing and bring it out a bit. The way it is it kind of seems like its just thrown in there. I dont really know if thats an option or not but when i get around to buying mine that what i would like. Something a bit more lie how it looks stock. Any idea what the price difference would be for that?

I mounted my Hella 500 driving lights last night.

Is it bad karma to mix Hellas and PIAAs? :)

I'm not quite following you on that, Doyou mean recess the light more in the housing?
That wont work here due to the clearance behind the light, and I cant really bring the mount out anymore due to how it lines up with the bumper.

i seem to have lost a fe people here so ill try to explain it a bit better. If you look at a stock bumper the turn signal is mounted about even with the front of the bumper. I guess im saying bring the box that the turn signals out what looks to be like another inch so its flush with the rest of the bumper and round off the top so it flows a bit better withthe rest of the bumper.

Thats about the only thing I dont like is the way the turn signals sit in the bumper almost an afterthought, ARB has them mounted behind the bumper face so they look "built in" not added on, or more likre the stock mounting, I know what youre talking about Crusader if no one else does
