Get ready guys (yeah I know it's almost a year away). There is an update for Camp Jeep 2006. It will be held at Road America, Elkhart Lake, WI from August 10-12, 2006. Elkhart Lake is close to Sheboygan (sp?), just over 2 hours north of Chicago.

They had "Camp Jeep on the road" there this year. I bent my mopar step rails in their Jeep playground. They did carve a nice little trail through the woods.

This is not "Camp Jeep on the Road," this is the real deal Camp Jeep - with a couple thousand jeeps from across the states for a couple of days of wheelin' and other cool activities. Last year they held 2 events, one in CA and one in PA. The crowd was a lot smaller. Every other year there has only been one event. I have been to the event in 2003 (VA) and 2005 (PA). Don C from Midwest can also chime in, as his family has been to a couple.

I haven't made it to the real deal yet. Looks like I'll have to take a few days off work and check it out. Anyone else interested in going?

I like the idea
Next Years events I'm wishing for:
Camp Jeep in WI: http://www.jeepjamboreeusa.com/schedule.htm
Jeep Jamboree somewhere in the Midwest: http://www.jeepjamboreeusa.com/schedule.htm
And I made a commitment to make it to MOAB in April

I'm gonna try to make it to camp jeep and the Jamboree at Drummond Island, but Moab would be the best by far....Well, I have 5 months to convince my wife that I need to go..

Sign me up... Right after this winter I am planning some fun stuff for the Jeep!

Camp Jeep will only be a 6 hour drive for me!

What's the camping arrangement like at Camp Jeep? You get a site or what? Might have to borrow brother's pop up if decide to go.

Yeah, you're responsible for setting up where to stay. Camp Jeep normally puts together a list of campgrounds and hotels to stay at close by. These places are all different and can accomodate lots of set-ups. They have not put out the list yet and typically don't until a couple months before the event.

Both these look like fun but I think I would have a hard time selling my wife on the idea do to $.

Jeep Jamboree is $195
Camp Jeep is $345

I prefer LOST Midwest trips for $15 park fee, tank of gas and a grill in the woods. :)

jams are PER PERSON

camp jeeps are PER JEEP

jams actually work out to cost way more. Camp jeep is a bargain, and has lots of non wheeling stuff to do.

Camp Jeep is a great time. My wife and I have been to two and will definitely being going to WI for our third. Jeep has definitely made the event family friendly (granted we don't have kids, I have seen many). I can bring pics of my experiences at Camp Jeep to one of our trailrides.

In have booked the Comfort Inn on 40th St. in Sheboygan - a 20 minute drive to Road America in Elkhart Lake, in case anyone wants to book the same.

I booked for thurs and friday nights - aug 10 and 11 - checking out on satturday morning and driving back home after the event on saturday night.

I believe this is where benmar2000 is booked as well.

Just finished setting up a reservation at the Comfort Inn on 40th St as well. I am not sure if I will be camping yet... so I'm covering all bases.
