Well - I almost logged in as Morgan LeFaye, but I tho't that would be a bit much, eh?

Opened the thread, posted the link, then realized that forum is on the official DCJ site, and the lift pump thread has Sir Sam's links to FSM's and SPM's - woah! major faux pas, no? Yes? Beat a hasty retreat to the EDIT button, and all's well that ends well. But, now they gotta small sampling of real hard-core Jeepin'!

I would recommend also posting the pictures you took showing the two modules side by side.

I didn't want to post links because your links to the manuals on your 'site are in that thread - might not sit too well with DCJ on their copyrighted 'site - not to mention a bunch of extraneous info not directly pertaining to the thread - I was going to wait 30days, see if there was any interest, then start a new thread with specific pics and pic'ed specifics

No, I meant a link to the couple of pictures that showed the comparison. Not to anything on our site.

so instead of putting the image tags around the location, put the url tags around the location.

edit:
Ok, I posted 10 links to photos(as it wont let me imbed any photos) just showing what we are talking about.

Yep - go ahead and post the pics, then I'll follow thru in Feb with a new thread, just to prevent any misgivings on 'hijacking' the shudder thread, which could also be the 545 transmission.

On another note, man that site is annoying, there is a reason I dont even hardly ever read anything there. Ads and crap all over, only limited to 10 pictures per post. And you cant even embed any pictures.

I seldom go there, but I wanted to see if DCJ would react to the proposed upgrade on their official Jeep forum - I listed SriLanka as the home location for the KJ, so some poor guy over there has prolly just lost his warranty.........

It will at least the give us a legitimate Chrysler filter unit to replace the plastic POS we have now. Even if we have to buy it  Also we don't know what the US dealers might or might not know about possible replacements. The fact that Merlin knows about it tells me he knows more about our diesels then my local jeep dealer

Just checked over on that thread - Merlin apparently made a reply dated 1/18 at 4:51 PM, then came back and deleted it. Oher than that, dead silence.

If you think that forum is a PITA, while in TX my friend was showing me one of the JK forums. Guy that owns/runs that particular forum flat out deletes messages and entire threads if you even mention a product from a company that isn't paying him to advertise on or sponsor his website. He's even somewhat offensive language-wise in the way he does it. He'll delete the post or thread, and in it's place will be this message - "Post Deleted. Reason - Pimping a non-sponsor product".

I PM'ed him yesterday to see whassupwidat - he said the mod looked good, ignoring warranty considerations, but that he had some problems with posting pics, so he deleted the entire response - I always keep in mind that, due to the exorbitant price of fuel, they're not as willing to experiment and modify stuff over there as we are, here.

That is so so lame. Let them live with air in the fuel and the resulting stumbling and hesitation. Maybe some will wise up and make it over this way.

May have just been my syntax, here, but I didn't see anything negative in his response - I am wondering which part(s) of my post his pics were in response to, tho - and I'm wondering if there is an accumulated attachment file limit, x amount of memory per thread.

Who knows, but that forum is even more restricted than a DCJ engineer by a beancounter. If that were even possible.

No kidding. A year or so ago, I actually got a PM from one of the mods on that forum. They'd decided to open up a KJ section, and came over here to LOST looking for CRD owners to participate in that forum as well.

That lasted all of about 2 weeks until I got fed up with the attitudes over there. After one gent made a comment about the members on LOST being "anal" along with some other derogatory remarks, I replied that it "takes one to know one" and considered it poor form to be talking about other Jeep owners behind their back in such a way, not to mention his choice of language. After that, this particular gent and a couple of his friends (one of whom claimed to be a dealer service tech) all but told me in plain English to "shut up and run back to LOST where you belong, we have a big happy family here and don't need your kind around".

I didn't let the door hit me in the rear, and haven't bothered going back until this thread came up.

Mostly I've noticed that the kind of real in depth technical help I am likely to need wont be there, the type of people who can answer my questions can't put-up with that kind of atmosphere.

Much like a working environment, if its hostile and dysfunctional you'll abandon ship. I feel like alot of the good technical people have done the same over there, which is true for alot of other jeep sites.

Makes you appreciate LOST for the type of interaction that goes on here.

Definitely. This is a common phenomenon across the vehicle spectrum. There are some unbelievably anal sites that "discuss" the old Datsun Z, where any modification from stock is heresy, especially engine transplants; then there is the HybridZ site that revels in such modifications. Guess which one has the better technical and troubleshooting resources?
