well ive been itching to get out on the trail now that im not working 18 hr days anymore and its getting close to the perfect time to roll around in a few national forests. I dont have a single detail planned out yet. I'm just trying to get a feeler out there to see who may be interested in a few days in the woods.

i was thinking more along the lines of the nicolet national forest. there's a lot better trails with some pretty big hills and a few good river crossings that i know of like the pestigo river(about knee deep) and a couple of other small streams that can get pretty nasty. but i was thinking about a run sometime late winter in around feb and possibly another one in the middle of spring when its all muddy and nasty up there before all the tourists start to migrate there.

My dad has been on a big job in Wausaw so if this is anywhere near there...it would be cool to make the trip and a good excuse to go out there.

I'd be game to do something if the date is right...

There is a gentleman (<- assumed) on the KJ Country forum that said he has a gravel pit type area around Green Bay that he uses to get his off road fix occasionally and we are planning a quick excursion sometime after the Turkey/Packer victory day. I will let you know more specifics when I hear of them.

That would work for me...

Or early Jan...say before the 14th? I'm on break and we could do something during the week like a Thursday or Friday if people are ok getting a day off?

I'm open for anything...

im still planning more twords febuary. It seems to be the time we get the most snow around here. An thats where the fun is. I checked into the wausau trail situation and well. There are none that i have been able to find thas are open during the winter. Im checking with the wisconsin DNR to make sure no matter where this would all go down that its all on the legal side. An im also checking with a bunch of people to find out where all the really bad logging roads are. Im thinking the best bet for areas to wheel would be around the lakewood or eagle river ares.

Yup... :P

I'll be back with both arms before X-mas so we're all good there. Just in time to mount all the (hopefully... :) ) new parts..? I'd like to think I'll have a new tire and wheel combo by then...if I get enough of my hard-earned dough saved. The 60+ mile commute to school has been harming my wallet... :x

Let me know guys...I'm on break so anythings game for me.

fyi. I was talking to my uncle a few weeks ago. he has 80 acres backing to Nicolet. he said the forest service just opened up most of the unmaintained logging roads to the public. He said you can find the maps online.

i was hoping to get out in the woods by early feb but i broke my 4wd driveshaft so i should have a new one by the middle of feb. So let get a list of people that want to go. The way the temp has been for the last few weeks it looks like there is still going to be a good amount o snow in the ground in late feb so be wware of that.

I'd like to go but not sure where it is. Hopefully you guys come up with a place that isn't hours away from where I'm at. Put up some details of where your going and I can see if it's possible.

By early Feb I should have front and rear recovery points and engine and tranny skids in place. No lift yet and not looking good in the near future for one. But I do love getting muddy!

I will warn you now, I'm a newbie to the sport, so if you don't want a newbie tagging along just be up front and say so, I'll understand.
