Thanks guys! Yeah Ed, at least mine happened in front of the house. I'm going to use the search function  to find out the correct red top Optima and I should be good to go.

Not that I think its an alternator problem here is a tip for checking the alternator.

Have someone sit in the truck with the ignition off. Use a crescent wrench or any steel object. Hold it next to the shaft of the alternator. Have your helper turn the key on. If the Alt is working it will magnetize and the steel will stick to the shaft.
The battery needs to be charged to do this of course;)

that happened to me, my battery was perfectly fine, and when my engine died, after the dealer put the new engine in, they couldnt even start it because my battery was dead and wouldnt charge. so they had to put a new battery in it so they could start my new engine for the first time :)

Had a tad over 140,000 kms when I replaced the origional battery last month. Battery was still doing its job but had a crack in the top I guess from the recent cold weather...

Hey Nanette, I have this little toy KJ and it looks just like yours. Recently I have been sticking the battery with pins. I'll try to refrain from doing this in the future.

No not really, but this seems like a good excuse to upgrade to a red top. Optima's are great batteries.

Then your Jeep will be ready for Moab, especially if you pull your Travel Trailer!

I did that with my Fairlane. Don't have the car anymore but I've got a small pile of parts in the garage!

Mmmmm, Moab........don't think it's in the cards this year. Then again I should really give the new battery a good run to make sure it's ok...

Thanks for all the help guys!
