I went up a size (245/70/16 ) when I got my Revos as I was looking for more stability for towing. They don't
rub and really make the truck feel much more solid. I have about 26K on them, very little wear and a great
deal of owner satisfaction.

I happened to hit a "Buy three, get one free" sale at Firestone and saved some money there.
You might want to shop around if you have the time to get on the phone. I found the prices varied significantly
from dealer to dealer. I know the sale I hit is offered several times a year. Ask about deals!

I know they are not ATs but what about Michelin Cross Terrain SUV's as a tire compared to the stock goodyears. I've actually not had any problems with traction on ice or snow with the goodyears but they wear like crap.

I've been running the BFG AT KOs for over a year now on the KJ and love them. Going to purchase another set this weekend. I've ran them on several different vehicles and they're the best all terrain tire made IMO.

Well I'll be running in on Thursday after work to talk about tires with my local shop. I have narrowed my choice down to four choices:

1) Bridgestone Dueler A/T Revo with UNI-T AQ II
2) Firestone Destination A/T
3) Yokohama Geolandar A/T-S
4) Pirelli Scorpion ATR

Anybody have any bad experience with any of these aside from what was said already?

Thanks.

We just finished with a set of #2, and we are now running a set of #4 in LT-D fitment. So far I really like them, but new tires are (almost) always smooth and quiet - sort of how you always think your new spark plug brand is certainly better than the last set... (Wait, can you fellas around here even appreciate that analogy? ;) )

I will not be buying tires yet but most likely next fall before winter. When I dropped it into Full Time 4X4 today just north of Indy it went fine through the ice and snow I ran into on the job site and on the road befor the salt got it. I like to look well before I leap.

Cooper Discoverer ATR has good reviews.

The ice/snow worry with tires is not whether you can get enough traction in 4wd to go. It is whether you can maintain enough traction to brake or turn at speed without skidding.

Just casting a vote for the Revo's
Good road wear - and great off road capabilities
Not as loud as most
Around 50K on the set (got them used from KJBol)
Still rolling through the snow great!

I just called a local Firestone shop near me and the quoted price including tax and mounting and balancing was $977.89. We'll see how tomorrow goes as far as another quote on the revos. Now I'm not really sure what to do as far as selection goes.

How would the Revo's hold up to mild off road use (e.g., corn fields, dirt roads, crossing very shallow streams (less than 6 inches deep))?

Would other tires be a better choice?

They are designed for exactly that kind of use. AT tires = mild off road use. MT (mud terrain) are for more serious offroad use.

The Revo's I had on my 4Runner were awesome.

After talking with the guy at my local shop and explaining to him what I plan to do with the liberty at least during this set of tires he talked me out of the revos and I settled on a set of Firestone Destination LE's. He said they'd be better than the stock ST's and he has them on his vehicle. So we'll see how they work over the long haul.
