I started the other day just clearing the codes and then unplugging the Scangauge. I have not had the Tranny "jump" that I was having. But it has only been a couple of days.

I have just purchased a Scanguage here in Australia tonight. I have stumbled onto this forum and I must admit I am now concerned. Is the scanguage causing the tranny problems you are having? Any advice wil be greatly appreciated.

I have a 2003 2.8ltr Crd Renegade Turbo
ARB Lift
ARB Front bar and Warn winch
Rock sliders
Front & rear Lockers ARB
Bits and pieces

I hope the above helps. I am not very technically minded so some of the technical side of the thread went over my head. It definitely doesnt sound good that the tranny develops a mind of its own. Does this happen only to some KJ's or to all that are using the scan guage? Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Is there any updates on the Tranny Situation? How is everyone going with this challenge? I havnt received the SG2 I purchased yet. I must admit I am a little nervous to connect it up. Thanks for your help in advance.

Apologies, GCJ - I overlooked your earlier response - we're attempting to collect further data at this point, but it looks like the SGII can cause some erratic operation, with the main symptom of losing communication, which can result in transmission dropping out of overdrive - collecting more information in this thread -

I've had the scan gauge II for about a year and it has the 3.14 version with no overdrive drops outs. Yes I have the scan gauge lock up after about 20 mins but other times it will last last hrs.

There is a seperate topic addressing this issue. I experienced it last Saturday on a long trip when the tranny dropped from OD to third simultaneous with the SGII lockup. We think there may be a relationship between the '05/'06 auto transmission 2.8 with ESP. I don't think there is a possibility of creating damage but it is a shock on the system.

If you have not, post your data in this thread to maintain continuity:

Thankyou very much for the update. Has there been any findings or conclusion that given a certain set of events/situations etc, it will lead to a fault?
