I wanted to thank Border Construction Specialties for stepping up big with the giant grill. Brandon, the president of Copper State Cruisers has gotten burgers and the use of this trailer sized grill donated for the clean-up! Thank YOU!

Overland Journal and Overland Video have contributed a free subscription (or renewal for you current subscribers) and two DVD's to the give away. The pot has been sweetened! :D

just voted...i'll be there unless they make thw FNG work the weekend. But i don't see that happeneing so I'll be there. I might just come out on friday and camp up there somewhere and meet up at the 9am start time. anyone else interested at all in camping Friday night. I am just now able to tap into a wireless network near my new apartment so haven't been on in a while to see if anything new has been discussed here or elsewhere...

If your interested in the camping PM me for my cell phone and e-mail and we can make arrangements or something perhaps....hope all is well with everyone!!!

I know a lot of us have an SUV, Jeep or other "non" trucks. Although piling bags of trash in the back can work, many don't want to take the risk of hurting the interior of their vehicle or just don't have the room!
If you have a hitch mounted bike rack you may have the perfect alternative. I simply looped the bag back on itself to make sure it gets a good grip and doesn't go anywhere.
Take a look:

Keep in mind that the bags will sway around back there and I don't recommend any highspeed or highway driving with this set up. It may just make the difference in carrying enough trash to make a difference though.

We can toss some up in my roof basket if need be as well. Is there anything I should bring besides a chair and food and a good attitude?

Scott,
Those are the essentials. :D
Some water, gloves, (a rake or shovel if ya have one handy), and a hand that I can shake and say thanks.

groovy, I'll be seeing ya there. Are you camping Friday night too? I plan on coming up Friday night whether I have to work or not so I can camp. As anyone finalized if they are or not? If they are camping where is it so we can be together instead of all seperated...unless of course you wanna be secluded, which is cool.

I'll be out there. I'm going to camp at spot number 10 on this map below. It will be the headquarters for the clean up. I may get out there just after dark on Friday. I've had a few folks say they'll be camping, but none for sure.
You're more than welcome to come on out! :D

Map of our camping area

EDIT: I just cleaned up that uber-long URL to make the page more readable - corwyyn

Good question. NO permit needed. We will be on Forest Service roads most of the clean up. A state trust land permit is nice to have because there is so much of it in az, but its not needed for the cleanup.
Thanks,
Tim

Well unfortunately I'm out. I was driving back from our Montana Mountain run and had a Homer moment (D'OH) after remembering that I had to be in Parker for the ASA4WDC quarterly meeting. Have fun and pick up lots of trash! 8)

With as big of a deal as this clean-up has become with so many groups/clubs/businesses all getting involved, has anyone considered inviting the media, lord knows we could use some good press with the general public who believe we only destroy nature instead of conserving it.

Anyone have any contacts at local news channels...?

Bring on the media! :D
I've contacted every news channel, paper, offroad related magazine I can think of with little response sadly. At the very least I'm going to try and get some press after the fact, but if anyone has an "in" please shoot me an email. Its tough to get through to the people that make decisions at these media outlets.
Thanks,
Tim

I sent out an e-mail and I know it's floated around work a lot. I'm hoping I will have some people confirm soon.
