A radiator hose of the right size would help. I don't know if duct tape, plus 4 or 5 hose clamps that can be clamped over the duct taped area, would be adequate to fix a blown turbo/intercooler hose. If it is, this would be a smaller repair kit to carry along.

it would not. You need whole pieces of hose, and something good to clamp onto(such as a metal or PVC pipe) tryting to patch it from the outside with duck tape would be a sticky oily mess that wouldn't hold pressure.

You could also repair a broken hose by buying the correct size $8 "silicone joiner" and two hose clamps. Just cut the broken hose at the site of the puncture, and slip this joiner in, then clamp it down.

The problem with that is more of the failures happen at the bends, you might need more material than that to join them.

Any updates on this? I just did a ProVent installation, but I think it's a bit late due to the 299 I throw on and off. I have a feeling the hose is going to crap out again fairly soon, seeing as the code threw again a couple miles from home today. In fact, it may have already blew out again. When I got home, I felt the underside of the CAC hose and my finger got coated with oil. It's not looking promising. I want the new hose once it becomes available, seeing as I replaced the intercooler line once already.

Thanks.

Additional testing is in the works, but nothing new to report.

Alrighty, well if the line is really blown out, I'll MacGyver something in the meantime. No way I'm throwing away another 400 to the dealership if it is indeed a ruptured line. I'll investigate the other causes in the meantime, just in case it's something else.

In any case, I still want the Samco goodness when it is available.

I'm in, cost is not an issue, but nice if there is a group discount. keep up the thread sir sam :D , and thanks.

I have been running the EHM since around 15K, and SEGR since around 20K, pushing 25K now and no signs of failure, yet :? but counting on keeping this rig till hell gets chilly, so a GOOD set of replacements are money in the bank, IMHO.

I have been in contact with my local Samco supplier, and he suspected there were problems if someone had paid Samco to make the tools needed for the hoses. That way this set of hoses would only be sold through the person who shelled out for the tools.

So I was happy to get a response from Samco that I will be able to buy these hoses at my local supplier too in 14 days when testing had finished. (14 days from the mail from a guy named Mark Hale - how accurate this is I have no clue)

I;m recieving some hoses from Mark hopefully today or tommorow for testing ,so if they fit well he is ready to go into production real soon. And i think he will help organise a group buy on both sides of the pond .It's pointless sending hoses half way round the world and back again .I have a friend who is manager of a car parts store that deals with samco and he was willing to help set up a group buy ,but Mark at samco said he can sort out a supplier he has in mind for a discounted group buy. And either Mark or Sirsam will have something in mind for the Us.
Uffe i think samco make their own tools ,jigs ect in house.

www.Slangespecialisten.dk told me that in some cases the local dealers had special requests and therefore had Samco produce tools and forms for the hoses at the dealers cost, thus the rights to use the tools for hose production were the dealers. This means samco can only produce a certain hose for the specific dealer. My dealer told me that he had some sets of forms for hoses stocked up at Samco which only he was allowed to use. These tools were expensive, which is why Samco honors it by only producing hoses from them for the dealer to benefit.

Glad to hear this is not the case for the CRD hoses.

A little research into the hoses and local availability doesn't hurt - and I like to be a little ahead of time ;)
