What the hell - 30 PSI??

Don't forget- your regular atmospheric pressure is included in that number. Here in the Dallas, Texas area I register around 14-16 PSI atmospheric.. so if it says 30 PSI on the SGII (or whatever) the turbo is really only adding 14-15 PSI... which isn't that much. Generally, in the motorsport world we would use the number not including atmospheric pressure. I would run around 29 PSI on my old Mitsubishi EVO.. which would have registered somewhere around 44 PSI atmospheric in my area / altitude.

Spowers,

I'll let you know what I find. I took the solinoid off this morning and checked the wiring and contacts. They looked good. I checked the fuses, and didn't see any blown.

I think it's just a bad solinoid. I bet it's not an expensive part.

I've got the service manual that gives you all the troubleshooting steps for fixing the P1250 code. If you'd like, I could send those pages to you so you can do some troubleshooting and diagnostics.

I dropped off the CRD today.

Sure enough, my diagnosis was correct (actually, the ECU's diagnosis). I've got a bad boost control solenoid.

If it were out of warranty, it's a $23 part. No big deal.

Sure enough, my diagnosis was correct.

Dealer put on a new solenoid and I'm back in business. This was a cheap fix. Part costs less than $30.

Just something to keep a look out for if you get a code P1250.

Great!

Mine was covered under warranty, so I let the dealer fix it, but we had some very serious storms here last week, and the parts depot in Memphis got hit killing 2 employees. My dealer had to source the part from somewhere else and it took 4 days to get it.

When you hear about someone losing their life, it makes not having turbo boost pretty insignificant. :(
