Later models "MIGHT" be equipped with a weight sensative passenger air bag system to help avoid any unwanted injury. Changes to the airbags them selves might be too small to notice.. For that you'd need to know an engineer that developed them or had access to the change log to tell you what was changed.

its more for the front end sensors and crush cans that would be used to deploy airbags in the event of a front end collision

thats what i need to know

With the bumper cover change in 2005, I am sure there were some tweaks to the crush sensors. I wouldn't mix different "body style" impact parts if at all possible.

I know this isn't what he's looking for but just to throw it out there, my '06 sport has this feature.

its more for a replacement bumper

ie

i have a 04 KJ , i might get my hands on a steel bumper ARB/TJM for 05+KJ's

i know the chassis mounting points are ok

its just the air bag sensors will they be affected

Your sensors are not related to the bumper cover. The only difference is in the computer. The 07's, and maybe 05-07, have the second generation SRS. They do have a weight sensative sensor on the front passanger side to detect an object or person over 60 or so pounds. My 75lbs black lab keeps sitting on it and the seatbelt alarm goes off.

The two crash sensors located in the front next to the radiator on both sides INSIDE the engin compartment are not connected to the crush cans located directly under the bumper cover.

An different bumper cover should NOT have any effect on them or the air bag deployment.

An all metal bumper will absorb energy differently than the steel beam bumper that you replace and that could have an effect on the deployment. Since the metal would carry more energy into the object that it impacts, the sensor could react differently. If the metal takes more energy to deform the delay in airbag deployment could be of concern.

Possibly ask ARB if they have done some crash testing?

ARB has done some crash testing tht is why they are the only air bag compliant bumper on the market.

check for earlier posts.

Than I am arguing for nothing. I'm glad to know that they have crash tested their equipment. It makes me want one more so now.
