they are all clean too... they are the solid colors... i striped the side in the pics with sharpes...

my wiring harnes is like this:

1. Green to Dkblu/Grn from ECU
2. Green Stripe to Dkblu/Grn to MAF
3. Red parallel with Brn/pink
4. Blue to Dkblu/Vio from ECU
5. Blue stripe to Dkblu/Vio to EGR
6. Black parallel with Blk/Grn
7. Yellow to Brn/gry from ECU
8. Yellow Stripe to Brn/gry to AFC
9. Orange Stripe parallel with Yel/Drkblu

I didn't solder these.. i cut and twisted then shrink wrapped... twisted 2-3 times, just like you would in wiring a house

ok so my solid (pin 1) is coming from the ECU going into the SEGR coming out to the Striped (pin 2) and going to the MAF

you are saying...

my solid should come from the MAF through the SEGR and out to striped to the ECU?

Your wiring. Segr 1 should go to the device downwind
Segr 2 should go to the ECM upwind
Looks like you have these 2 wires backwards

swapped the wires out and did a test run... i was still in limp so i disconnected the battery
cable again to hopefully get it out of limp... it worked... power is back and the resistor in the
SEGR is getting warm now. I think it is fixed... i don't have a reader so i can't make the CEL
go away right away.

I think the wires did the trick... the same look as yesterday that reported 6.0 MPG is up to 12 now.
i doubt that it wold double my MPG but i am thinking this is another sign that it is now wired correctly.
that d@mn 1% that i was not wired into the harness correctly..i got the right wires just the wrong way.

Thanks to Steve and UFO for the help.

Yippedoodahh whata wonderful day.
Trevor
My machine will not clear the codes. If I clear them with the code reader
they don't come back on. If I pull the MAF off it will throw a code and
I have to clear it with my code reader to get rid of it.
Drive er round the block, pull in listen to the engine, put er
in park, should here the difference in sound. That is the AFC
closing to aid in shut down.
Steve

2nd thing Trevor.
We are among the few. I tied into the wrong wire first time.
Payback is here. They have 30 plus on the new build list
for the SEGR units. Some of these chaps will need help as today.
Please retain all this knowledge and pass it on to the new comers
with the upcoming units.
Heck, next time someone may need help, I may be on the
freeway, exploring our great nation so it may be up to you
my friend.

Steve

Just reread your post.
The wiring is very hard to understand in a lot of the posts.
That is why I made my thingy if you will to help me understand
what wires went where.

Good work inferno. You are not the first to swap those wires, and we know this fortunately will not damage the MAF or ECM. Congratulations on fixing it. Your CEL should go out after a while, something like three starting and shutdown cycles...

thanks to you too UFO for your help. i am probably going to stop by my
dad's friends shop tomorrow to see if he will read it and turn it off... unfortunately
he was not open last night or today or i would have had the code.

Just 2 more installs of these to go and i will be set... now i know mine is wired
correctly so i can test the others out on my truck.. i am sure they will be fine though.

Good work Trevor.

The pictures were an aid but the paperwork you did was what
really made the day. The secret was in that paperwork on
finding the fault.
Have fun Segring

This morning i went to the vet for the pet's meds, then i was going
to go get the CEL checked out by my dad's friend for S&G,
I left the vet and noticed that the CEL turned off so i am not going
to go see what it was all about.

So now i am running in stealth EGR mode.

Yes. After several restarts they usually start working
normally.
After all. It is the way it should have been before the
bean counters starting adding all that junk to our tractors.
