Saw someone mention a little while back that the CRD cradle was different from the gassers. IIRC they said the CRD's sat lower? If this is true could a V6 utilize the CRD's cradle to drop the diff down more, so as to ease the angle on the CV's? Then would be able to go higher on our suspension lift?
The CRD cradles dropped the diff and moved it over more towards the L/F wheel to make room for the larger oil pan for the 2.8.You could use the CRD cradle but unless the motor mounts are in the same location you'd need to cut them off and re-weld the correct mounts in the correct place.Oh and not to mention you'll need to buy the CRD CV axles also since you'll need them and any lift 3" or bigger you'll run into a major problem----Since the drivers side CV shaft is now shorter and moved closer to the left front tire it will hit the clevis and tear the inner CV boot with 3"+ lifts, ask the CRD guy(Gilamonster I believe) about useing the RK 3.5" lift and his CV's.
