That's why I have a set of them just sitting in my garage that I bought a couple years ago. It's going to be a custom job to make them fit my '02, and no one will touch it until I have 8 years or 80k miles on my cats. I'm at 6 years 8 months and 70k right now. The 206 cams will be going into the ported heads at the same time.
It's pricy but why not just get a Y-pipe from a '03KJ,comes with new cat's(delets the big one).

First Thanks for the 411 on the headers. Is there a set of headers you would recomend for an '02 KJ and new cats as for exhaust do your recomend single or dual. The last time I went that heavey in Mods was in '79 on a 260 Z. I appreciate the advise :D 8)

Same problem with no one wanting to touch anything near the federally mandated emmissions equipment. $2500 fine for each. The places around here won't even talk to me about modifying the flanges, much less pulling out the 3 cats and replacing them with 2.

Do it yourself, unbolt the stock manifolds and remove the stock exhaust.Bolt up the JBA headers and add the '03+ Y-pipe and then get the freeflow cat-back system.Should be able to do all the work in your driveway in about 4-5 hours.

Okay, I have a few question concerning the JBA Headers. You guys keep talking and it’s making me want to spend money! I think you’re doing it on purpose!
Image

(1) How much are the JBA Headers?
(2) Are there anyone on this forum running them?
(3) Do have any dyno results showing the before and after HP, and TQ?
(4) Where do I purchase these headers?
(5) Do I lose ground clearance with these headers?
(6) Are my factory catalytic converters and sensors retained?

1)About $400
2)I believe Jiay in Saudia Arabia has them on his KJ,not sure who else has them on(Ted will when we do his SFA)
3)Only the ones from JBA
4)autoanything.com has them for about $400(where Ted got his)
5)No
6)Yes as long as they are going on a '03+ KJ(which you have a '07 anyway)

Just adding the headers alone is pointless, you need to add the CAI type setup and a free flowing cat-back exhuast sytem at least to take any advantages(as for HP and torque) besides to natural cooling abilities of the ceramic coating. To do it right you would also want the FastMan TB,and yes a computer reprograming to take full advantage of it all.Just one item is but a small drop in the bucket, all need to be done to gain some #'s.All said and done about $2000 or so with a noticeable gain,if you keep your foot out of it you'll gain a respectable MPG increase, but that never happens cause it's so fun to get on it with the extra power.

Will they work with the '07? I thought they had an EGR like the Dodge Nitro. I actually have a set of the stainless headers for the Nitro right now because JBA sold my '03-'06 KJ headers to someone else when they were supposed to be making some for my '02. I'm going to contact them to see if I can send them back and get them replaced with some ceramic coated headers for the'03-'06 and find a Y pipe from one so it will basically be bolt on. Anybody know of a cheap place to get the Y pipe?

The Nitro is a totally different platform then the KJ,the KK is of the same platform so I wouldn't think the '07 KJ's would be much different then the '06's(besides the throttle by wire and no tranny dipstick).

tjkj2002,
I thought the 3.7 had an EGR starting in '07, but I definately could be wrong.

Jeepjeepster,
I would really appreciate some help since I'm really not very good at such things. I still need to find a Y pipe, and talk to JBA to see about swapping back the Nitro headers with the EGR that would need to be sealed off. I'll definately let you know.

Yes, let us know! I'm curious since I have a 2007KJ

tjkj2002,
What mods do you have done to your engine and is this one of them? Are the stainless ones without the ceramic coating okay or does the coating provide a benefit? Am I right to believe that this set of headers will fit my 2003 v-6. darn , if this is true then I made a mistake. I thought they only fit the 05s and up and that is why I canceled my order over a year ago.

I do not have the headers,I may or may not get them, may opt to do a engine swap instead.Get the ceramic coated ones, the plain stainless steel ones are the same price as the coated ones and the coated ones have more advantages, not like your going to see them anyway,so why get the shiny ones when the dull ones are better.

I can not comfirm this but I believe they changed the manifold flanges with the introduction of the 42RLE tranny, some '03's do have the 45RFE and I can't confirm if they have the correct flanges or not.The JBA's need the bolted flanges while I have the clamp style flange on my '02.

Ahhh, I have the 45RFE....is it the flange on the cat that I need to check. Oh and it shows the ceramic ones to cost 200 more than the stainless steel...hmmm thanks dude.

After installing a new muffler and seeing the results from that, I am tempted to go after s CAI, chip, and ceramic headers. It all adds up I guess. The muffler added around 20-30 miles to a tank fuel savings.

Inc, save your money for the SFA :D :D otherwise, everyone is talking about bolt on stuff, what about shaving heads, porting and polishing, cams, etc. i know its a little more expensive but i think you'll get a better HP gain. or just empty your SFA account and do a 4.7 swap :D

 This was quite a while ago. I have no interest in headers now.
