The 2.8 liter common-rail turbo diesel engine is rated at an estimated 160 horsepower at 3800 rpm with an enormous 295 lb.-ft. at 1800 rpm. Its performance in all gears feels far superior with a better spooling / more efficient torque converter and a fueling box like the TS Performance TSP05CRD. This after market box adds 50HP and 85 lb.-ft. torque at the wheels.

Anyone know anything about this?

A while back - Farmdiesel tried it - ran it on a dyno and actually got worse results that stock - he gave the info to TS performance and they were looking at it - so they may have fixed it (that was about a year ago)
but I don't know anyone else that's tried it.

FYI - Farmdiesel tried 4 -TS Performance, the Edge, the Predator and the SP Diesel.
said for a daily driver - he liked the Edge chip best.

(he gave up - sold the CRD - and got a Hemi)

Just a performance module made by TS Industries (similar to the Edge Trail Jammer, Diesel Power SP, etc...)

Never fully put stock in Farmdiesels posts...said some stuff he would never back up/take pics of/ect...Not saying I know either, but he just would not come thru with more input.

A "box" could show less than stock numbers if it went outside the parameters set by Jeep and put it into a "limp mode". Not a regular limp mode but more of a detuned feel. One of the Diesel Mags tested the DieselPower module and the "Dr Performance Predator" modules. They had to keep the DieselPower on the "D" mode or it would go into factory "limp" mode.

With a Dynomax Catback here are the results:

Dynomax only: 159rwhp/268#pounds (curve fell off after 2000 rpm)

DieselPower: 183.3rwhp/306.6#pounds (flattened out curve and brought in on faster and longer)

Predator:183.9rwhp/310.1#pounds

Well , the advantage that Farmdiesel had - was that he tried more than 1 module
everyone else - tries one and it invariably feels like it has more power and a faster response
but there's not much real data

even if you have dyno results - you need the same dyno or you'll get variation
just from your measurement technique.

Dieselpower's report was interesting but they tested 2 - and there are a dozen chips on the market not to mention Inmotion
and no one wants to tell you how much they raise the injector pressure (if they even know - and that's not clear)

Conceptually Inmotion has the ability to make better product because of the way they remap the ECU
but no data still looks like no data.

(yes CATCRD's before/after dyno's looked impressive -
but I'd sure like to see some other modules on that Dyno in addition to Injector/boost pressure and EGT numbers)

For kicks, I swapped my Edge Trailjammer over to its high power mode tonight. Wow, thats addictive. My crappy factory torque converter is begging for mercy.

Don't worry... it won't beg for long.

My wallet re-took control of my brain and I wisely slipped it back to "economy" mode this morning (though it is still supposed to put out 10 or so more HP and 15-20 foot pounds of torque over stock).
