I received a reply from Superlift today that there wasn't enough interest in the Lift for the Liberty like the " Liberator " to market it. Maybe if enough people E-mailed them to the contrary they would change their minds!! Joe :D <Mcorrero@superlift.com>

Just send the email man I am really hoping they change there minds I have been waiting for a super lift that works as well as the regular 2.5/3 inch lift. I would love to be the first Liberty in Germany lift like that.

If you guys here anything before me please let me know. I wouldn' mind being one of the first ones in line for it.

Geez, we've been waiting patiently for this for over a year and there's not enough interest??? The new Grand comes out and they already plan to bring a lift to market for it. There's NO WAY there is more demand for that lift than one for the KJ. C'mon Superlift.

Sky...typically people that buy a Grand have more disposable income than a typical Liberty owner, too.

that and people that buy Grand Cherokees are more image-conscious, most of the lifted XK's and WK's will be straight up pavement pounders.

How can they say not enough interest when they already have a lift available for the Grand Cherokee and specially the all new Comander. It's rare to see Newer Grand Cherokees lifted. [http://www.rockcrawler.com/features/newsshorts/05october/superlift/display.asp?photo=xk_zebra_650.jpg]]

I don't understand one thing - KJ has a problem with going up 3+ inches because of the CV angles.....but the XK and WK have a 4" lift coming their way. Both have IFS. I'm not a mechanical engineer, but it can't be THAT hard to incorporate some of the lessons learned from this new lift for the new GC and the Commander into a KJ lift. I'll venture to guess that the IFS on the WK is not that much different than the Liberty's. Why can't we have new steering knuckles and brackets to change the front diff?

Thanks for E-mailing Superlift!!!!!!!! I E-mailed them also, I'd venture to say I know of far more KJ's then ZJ's that are lifted, I would purchase the Superlift now if they had it! They're rep had told me at the PA Jeeps Show it would be out by Dec. 2005 and when they E-mailed me that there wasn't enough interest it got me steaming!! Joe

With this type of lift the front diff gets lowered so the CV joints aren't as much of an issue. aka "Dropping the cradle"

the WK/XK have longer control arms/CV shafts too though, do they not?

I've expressed my interest to them before, and I expressed it again. I just emailed them again.

I have a hard time understanding why they measured market demand by making the liberator concept. I personally thought that car was mediocre at best, it should have been a bright red or burnt umber metallic or something flashy, and they should have brought a rock along to pose it on, that would help them guage actual market demand...

Its as if my girlfriend tried on a beautiful dress, right after getting out of bed, and asked me if it looked good on her, while her hair was pointed in all directions and she had poofy sleepy eyes...

Alright boys, calm down. I can guess why they're not doing it...

I'd guess that a good IFS lift for a KJ would include several after market up grades, High Angle CV boots being the least of the problems. The Unibody is weak, the knuckles suck I could go on. You put 33" tires on a KJ, stuff will BREAK. Superlift isn't going to halfass it, their reputation is too good for that.

I'd guess a good lift would hit the streets for about $3 grand plus. Plus drive shafts/slip yoke eliminator that isn't even made yet and install. Would you pay that much? Probably a 5 grand upgrade when all is said and done and that's before you hand out a grand for the tires. I wouldn't... and they probably don't think too many of us would. Business is business. It's a loser, so they passed on it. I don't blame em.

My opinion, anyway. You want a good 4-5" lift, you're gonna end up making it yourself via Live axle conversion. So read up on steering, find a good guy with a welder and suck it up.

In case none of you saw this you might wanna check out this tread. Superlift made a post inquiring about the wants of KJ owners.

http://www.lostjeeps.com/forum/phpBB3/vie ... php?t=3483

I know there is all this doom talk of the KJ will blow up if you put 33s and how the IFS and unibody is crap. But as people have pointed out the XK and WK will have IFS lifts of 4-5" available from superlift sometime soon. Plus isn't the XJ, WJ, and ZJ (along with XK and WK) all unibody's and there are plenty of people running 33-35s on those platforms, plus the KJ's unibody is supposedly strong then the XJs, ZJs or WJ. Finally there are a number of people running 32s on their KJ, the KJ is not going to instantly blow up the minute you throw 33s on it.

So being told so authoritatively in a condescending manner that the KJ will blow up sounds a little silly to me. Yes it will put more strain on everything and things need to be fixed up, but their are things you can do to compensate.

The KJ unibody is a lot more stout than an XJ. If you need proof, get an XJ in an off camber position and try opening / shutting the doors. I hated that!
