I saw this hand winch/puller( https://www.wyeth-scott.com/index.asp) and thought about picking one up. Would it be worth it. I don't have a powered winch on the agenda just yet. I wheel with others, but this thing seems versatile, and cheap $150. Better then nothing right? Or should I just use my hi-lift in the same way? Advice?

you could just use a hi-lift jack. You just missed the on-line sale on them for $43. And you don't have to worry about that steel wire snaping and seriously injurying someone.
