Hey Clint, I was gonna tell you we found a really great trail off Onyx Summit,,,,but thinking about it - I think you might have already been there first ---- all the rocks were gone - - - well there was that BIG one at the end,,,,,and those streches with them all laying around together,,,,,and those that Jeff said weren't really there,,,umm I kept seeing rocks in my dreams too, I must just have a vivid imagination I guess. Jeff, Denise - great ride, thanks for letting me tag along, hope I didn't slow you down. Jeff, I know you could have done that hill on the West side if you'd wanted to, and you wouldn't have had to come back down, you know I would have had to follow you!

Yep...we had a great time !

Found some new trails and will definatly be comming back up to explore some more. This time I'd like to look around on the North West side of the Lake.

I wrote a short summary of our trip in the KJwest section if you want to check it out. 8)

Hi Guys: Was the trail you were on 1N01? If so, the BIG rock at what you thought was the bottom, wasn't. It rolled in last winter. The SBNFA Volunteers were trying to remove it, but may have to settle for chipping away at it until it's no longer a clearance problem. 1N01 does have a locked gate at the real bottom - land that is privately owned by the Wildlife Conservancy, purchased so they could close the trail there. It used to continue to where you came out on Pipes Canyon and go on to Pioneertown if you wanted. Still a good trail, especially after the rock is downsized. There's a campground further down and an old abandoned shack. Sounds like you had a great day; sorry I missed it. Ted
