How many Skid Plates are there for the Liberty 3 or 4???

If you were to buy one to start off with, which one would you buy first?

Theres 4 now. I would get the engine skid(im tring to get this off a guy right now) then t-case skid. I think the tranny skid works off of these two, so u must get them first. The tranny skid is only for the 2005 libbys but u can make it fit on ur libby. Then theres the gas tank skid but ive never hit the gas tank, only the front diff, but id say its good for rocks and things.

Edit: just noitced urs is 2005, so u have 4 skids and they all fit correctly.

Four skids for all model years. Get the gas tank skid along with the other three. You will hit it if you off-road around rocks. There are Mopar skids and there are great aftermarket skids.

From the factory 02-04 had only the Front Engine skid, the X-fer case skid, and the Gas Tank skid. The 05 has a Tranny skid as well. If you were to order them from the factory, they may only sell the new 4-piece setup for all years, but I'm not sure about that.

$222 shipped for all 4 from jparts. You cannot beat that. I had them on my doorstep 3 days after I ordered.

The mopar skids are cheap and work well. If you want to get a little more protection quality you can check out www.jepinbyal.com or All J .

I don't remember the exact order, but I know the T-Case was the first one and I ended with the gas tank. I also suggest boulderbars and a diff guard.

Got the T-Case skid on no problem

I can't seem to loosen the bolts of the rear tow hook, so I can put on the gas tank skid

Any ideas on what I could use to loosen the bolts?

You just need some more leverage. I was able to break the bolts loose using a 1/2 inch rachet with my 18mm socket. You made need to put a cheater bar on if you ae having that much difficulty. Worst case scenario - bring it to the Badlands run and we'll install it.

Had a heck of a time with those bolts. I know this guy with a tire shop and took the Jeep over there. They were able to get the bolts loose and then helped me put the skid on. so now I'm ready for the weekend
