Thanks for the hope, I needed that!

Now the question is do I wait until the warranty is up (I have a 100K extended that covers the EGR) or do it now? If I wait another 49.5 K how much crap in the engine and other damage will not doing it now cause . I have a 05 and have never had a EGR issue so I expect this one needs to die soon...

No problem... as for the warranty i was thinking about getting the extended one
but i didn't... the deal breaker for me was i took it to the dealer for an odd vibration
that they told me was normal... of the 3 CRD's i have driven the other one that did
the same sort of vibration had the tranny rebuilt shortly after under warranty. who
am i to tell the dealer they are wrong :roll

as for the muck that would be in there ... a few threads mention TDI's with 60k+ full of gunk:

If anyone wants to use this as an opportunity to get a good soldering iron, give this some consideration:

Hakko 936-12

This was a huge improvement over my $10 Rat Shack iron.

Is there any need for a finned heat sink on the outside of the case to dissipate extra heat from the resistor area or is the operating temp moderate??
Just thought I would ask.

Last edition, there was talk of the heat, so I added a fin outside of the Resistor
just to keep it cooler.

Hi guys. You do great work...and I especially appreciate the efforts of Loco and UFO. That SEGR will be great for my offroad adventures.

Just a quick question about EGRs...how difficult is it to replace one? I have a new one on hand. I'm pretty certain that the one currently riding on the Jeep (May '06 build date) the past 40,000 miles is stuck in the open position. I'm pretty handy, but I'm definitely not a diesel mechanic and this is the first diesel I've owned.

I'm getting 2-3 mpg less than I used to and I was attributing this to winter diesel and driving on the freeway in very cold weather while waiting for the transmission fluid to warm up enough to allow the T/C to lock-up. Mine used to have a little shudder when I'd get on it hard and then let off when reaching ~60mph...presumably because the EGR is trying to catch up to what the engine is doing. The shudder was never too bad before but a little annoying. I don't have it anymore when I accelerate hard and let off...it's very smooth now. ...I think I'd like to have that shudder back and 2-3 mpg with it. Any of you had a similar experience?

Thanks,

Kevin

Alright fellas, I just finished up the instructions and will start shipping kits tommorrow. So those of you who have paid will have your kits shipped either to you or UFO depending on what you chose. Those of you who have not paid get ahold of me ASAP or if someone else wants in I might have to let you kit go to someone else.

If your name is Green your kit shipped today. If the rest of the ladies and gentlemen who are still not green would be so kind as to contact me and let me know their payment status I would greatly appreciate it. Please remember I laid out the $ for this group buy on my Visa and I'd really like to pay it off before I have to carry a balance.

They should have been included Trevor. Check through you kits one more time and let me know. If not Ill send you out the parts. The extra pins are included in the bag with all the pins. There should be 9 females, and 15 males the extra 6 are for the bypass plug in each kit. Let me know.

LOCO,

just counted out the pins... all 15 males are in both kits, the thing that is missing then
is the plastic part that would go through the box, i should have 5 i only have 3. i have
ALL the parts needed to build the actual box just not the 2 plastic 9 pin connections
for the bypass plug.

the woes of doing 50ish kits and trying to keep it all straight with one employee, it is
understandable.

whenever you get a chance LOCO it would be appreciated.
