I have received my kit shipments and will start building them up this week. I may start shipping as early as next Monday, and I will let each of you who are having me build your kit know when it ships.

OK fellas, you remember the deal right? I order the PCB's and parts on my credit card and then you guys pay for the kits you requested. A deal is a deal. That being said, if I have mistakenly left your name on this list, and you have paid(and therefore been sent a kit) let me know by PM with your name address and email address and the method you paid by and I'll quickly remove you from the wall of shame.

Hey guys. I am new to the forum but have an '06 CRD and have been looking for a way to disable my egr system. I apologize for the late involvement, I have been waiting for my account to become activated. Please let me know what I need to do to get my hands on one of these kits.

Thanks,
Steve

Also, I plan on adding an SP Diesel/Painless Wiring power programmer and read that disabling the egr system causes the engine to run leaner. Will this potentially cause a problem?

No, lean running is not a problem for diesel engines, and they were never meant to run EGR.

okay, great. So from what I have read, what I understand so far, is that this kit enables the egr system to work long enough to run a check and make sure it is working. But after that it completely disables the egr system, and doesn't trip a cel? Is it detectable by a dealership or inspection station?

nope EGR never operates... the board takes the info trom the MAF on the airbox... and sends a signal to the ECM telling it it works.

So the MAF sensor continues to function and reads the intake flow but the ecm's signal never reaches the egr system? All the ecm needs to know is that the MAF is working in order to not throw a cel? It doesn't need to verify that the egr system is working by sensing a difference in flow or anything?

the SEGR sends the signals to the ECU that the EGR is working... the only thing
that could really be monitored is the IAT and there is no real way that the ECU
can say that the IAT is too low open the EGR. the EGR is opened when the air
flow is low indicating that the engine is idleing.

How involved was the installation?...is it reversible?...was it tricky to find the correct wires and such? I have a decent amount of experience under the hood but most of it has been more mechanical, hence my current major of mechanical engineering at Manhattan College.

the installation was not bad... there are a few wires that are hard to ID
cause of the dark colors... but the one that is the hardest was under all
of mine where i tied into on top of the engine.

It is semi permanent... you have to cut the harness so to reverse it you
have to go back and redo the wires... or just plug in the bypass plug and
run with that.

took me a bout 3 hours total cause i had some wires mixed up. all that
and other problems are documented in the SEGR builders thread.
http://www.lostjeeps.com/forum/phpBB3/vie ... hp?t=23033

To get the correct wires i put a pin in the ECU harness pin then in the wire i
thought was the one i wanted... checked for resistance... if you get any you
have the right connection..

All in all it seems, and reads about 90 times harder than it actually is.

Alright, cool. So expect for it to take an afternoon and be prepared for it to take the weekend because of any SNAFUs. How and to who shall I send the payment? Thanks again.
