Guys (and gals) hold up a second. Clint in fact said "I don't want to speak for the guys at All Js..."

His comments were purely hypothetical in nature and no where has All J represented that this is at all doable or that the price would be $700. I just want to make sure people are clear on this point. I can see a whole bunch of upset KJers when they realize that Clint's statements were meant to be conversation and thought provoking, but not an offer to sell you a bumper.

Please express interest and ask questions, but do not mislead people in to thinking there is a $700 bumper available. That's up to Quinn and I haven't seen him chime in yet.

Before this goes on any farther..........When Clint had posted about this, he had spoken to me about the bumper. He asked what we needed to get this moving. I said if we could get 10 ready to commit serious buyers at $700, I would take that info to the boss. Keep in mind, after the first 10 bumpers, the retail price will be whatever the boss says it will be. It could be $700 or anywhere up to $800. Right now we just don't know because we don't have the actual costs to analyze yet. So the first 10 who sign-up will be getting a sure deal at $700 each.

A standard TJ bumper runs about $350 and the KJ bumper is much more work, and a uses lot more materials. IF there are 10 guys/gals willing to commit to 10 bumpers @ $700, I will take this info to Steve and get it going. I can't go up the ladder with 3 people wanting bumpers. See my problem?

Other concerns: Yes you loose the stock fog lights, but you can mount some on top. The bumper as is weighs in at 88LBS. This will be give or take a few pounds when completed. Anchor shackles can be added, and we have a bracket for a reciever lisense plate holder, they are like less than $20. Also you can mount tow hooks to the mounting brackets of the bumber. The alternate bumper will look basically like Wally's, but the lights will have a nicer fit.

I see 3 people willing to commit so far. For 3 bumpers tooling up isn't going to happen. Those would be custom bumpers and have to be "hand" made. This is where we are currently. Give me something to take to the boss, or let's drop it for now.
:)

I am interested in the bumper, but can't make a commitment till after August 1st. Once I have the cash secured, $700 is worth it. I'm just waiting for my bonus to come in from work.

Jeep Liberty Bull Bar - $717.78

This is for the ARB.

Don't forget to budget for shipping costs. At 88+ lbs and the size of these things the shipping can be significant.

4X4 Connection has them for $715, and shipping is only $75 if you can ship to a commercial zone. ($135 residential.)

Sam's Offroad has a shipped price of $780.

OK, since I started this thread, I'll go back to the first post and list everyone who's a definite.

Please email me your year KJ if I don't have it. Also, email or post if you want to be added to definites list.

NOTE: email notificiation doesn't work for me, so email if you need me. It's in my profile.

Am I one? Because I'd like bumper #3 or #4 :)

I don't care about losing stock foglights so long as there's options to use that stupid switch on my turn signal!

Mac: for the prices mentioned, or near that price, count me in.

Actually, would a $100 retainer from all of us get your boss thinking more?

Quinn,
We've got 9 definites. From what I can tell, only two of them are 2005 models. Will that mess up your "10" count?

Also, vxla suggested a $100 deposit to get things going faster. I'm up for that as well, especially if that will get us an actual time frame. As I mentioned earlier, I really need it by september.

Lastly, your email mentioned an "alternate" bumper. Please clarify what you were talking about.

Please remember, you asked for a committment from 10 KJ'ers on Saturday at 6pm. By Sunday, you have 9. I'd say we're serious and we're worth the tool-up, wouldn't you? What's your boss's phone number?

Rustys offroad sells Liberty ARB bumper for $680.00, but you have to pay truckline shipping (around $100-$150) unless you live close to them. I think they weigh more than 88 lbs.

I still think even that is too much for a bumper. I can get a Custom4x4Fab bumper for my Cherokee (also uni-body) for $329 from Jeepin Outfitters. Think I'll wait a few more years to do my Liberty, I'm not made of money like some of you.
Sorrey.
