After rotating my tires and seeing that the left upper ball joint boot was torn I decided to fix it before it leaked out all the grease and destroyed my ball joint. The dealership only sells the complete UCA assembly which is ridiculous if you only need to change the boot. So, went to a junk yard and bought an old UCA for $30 with a perfect boot on it. Changed out just the boot because the joint was good and the old part had a sloppy joint anyway. So, I avoided giving the stealership the money. I guess I could have just bought a boot somewhere but can't find just boots in my area and using an original part meant I was sure to get the right boot. This is just info for someone to let them know that they don't have to buy the entire UCA if the joint is still good and they only need the boot.

Not sure if it would work on stock a-arms, but these are made for Al's Gen I, II and III A-arms ubj's.

I would have gotten a similar-sized poly boot an auto-parts store. Anything that would cover the whole old boot would work.

So you can buy another boot and you'll have a spare UCA, just in case you break on the trail.
