Rear Seat help

it is for a CRD :p

I am looking for a rear seat cover, prefer leather or leatherette, for my dog. She sheds all over everything right now and I know hair will not stick to leather. All the prices I have seen though I think I can get the OEM leather covers for the same price. Any other ideas? No, getting rid of the dog is not an option, it is too expensive.

Can't help you with the seat covers, but I've been thinking about something like this... keeps the back seat clean, helps keep the dog(s) in the back seat, and cushions them if you brake hard and they fall off the seat.

There seems to be a few brands, such as this "Pooch Pad", as well as a "Dog Cradle" which seems to be sold mainly out of the UK.

Cabelas has seat covers for the liberty. I don't know about leather though. Prob cheaper to get a leather back seat out of a salvage yard.

When you say it like that it sounds as if the only way of getting rid of the dog is by killing it :lol:

Why not get something cheap, like old towels or bedsheets and use that to cover it?

We bought one of these, not sure of the exact brand. It works well except for two things. First, the pad is a bit too narrow and does not extend all the way to the sides of the seat (which you can actually see from the one in the picture too). Second, the straps on ours were weak and kept breaking. We tried using heavy duty safety pins but the movement of the dogs kept bending them open. One puppy is 60lbs, the other is 70lbs.

The dog is worth 2000 euros.

No junked KJ in the yards, most find their way east before you can find out they are there.

I am going to try and get a replacement rear seat coverings for leather from a Jeep dealer.

I had a cover like the one above but it was cheap and in an accident the dog is a flying missle, since mine is 70lbs, I don't want a 70lb weight hitting me in the head in an accident

Hi.
Try to remember how dog nails and leather get along together.
Wifey made covers for the motor home out of just some material for
the sofa and the dining table seats. We have 6 Golden Retrievers so
you know how the fur flys there. We get home, she washes them and
good to go again.
Just for thought.

Wifey says use Fleece because its easy to wash.

An old blanket from the Salvation army makes for a soft cover for our Golden Retriever and keeps the seat clean. You can wash it or throw it out when it gets too dirty.

Good to know... dogs of that size would probably put some strain on it too. Ours are 20 pounders, might be a bit easier on it ;-)

Am I the only one who is sitting here wondering why an old bedsheet, blanket, or towel is not a handy and cheap solution.

And damm, my Jeep cost less than that dog!
