I found this neat little set on the rampage website:

It's for a CJ/Wrangler pre-drilled bumper holes. Does anyone with both a lib and a wrangler know if those holes are the same offset and size as the ones in the uniframe into which the kj factory towhook mount?

Dan

Both the F/R tow hooks on the KJ use 3 bolts in a triangle pattern, you'd need to drill holes to make those work.

Yeah, I just removed my rear hook and the bolt spacing was way farther apart than on the ones you have pictured. You can use one of the factory holes I guess, but you would need to drill the other two. Plus the rear hook mounts hidden under the rear bumper with the hook hanging down and the swinging d loops might swing upward when using them in a recovery situation and try to rip your bumper off. Assuming the bumper is stock.

I've seen them on a YJ, if I remember correctly, but not sure. They didn't seem real scary, but I would go beefier if it was me. Then again I bought that cheesy little yellow receiver hitch tow strap combo which was SCARY. (cut off the crappy receiver and got a real one)

It doesn't look any scarier than some of the little tow hooks I see on the top of tons of TJs front bumpers.

Those look scary to me.

The price IS scary, but you need to remember that they are a DESIGNED and assumably TESTED recovery devices and locations suitable for the weight of a KJ.

There are some used front ones in the for sale section right now. PITA to install but not full retail either.

All except for the "Warranty void if used off maintained roadways"

It says that in EVERY vehicles warranty booklet, not just KJ's.

What looks scary about them is using them in the stock locations of the KJ's tow hook holes. THAT is why I think they're scary...
