My co-worker has a old diesel Chevy truck. He uses a mix of 50% Diesel and 50% used, filtered motor oil. Not bio-diesel but it apparently works. He just started doing it so I'll re-post in about a month and see how this works. Not that I would try it (if I even had a CRD) but the only computer in his rig is in his radio.

Dont even try without a lift pump! My friend makes this for his Dodge and it runs fine but it is noticeably thicker than petro or bio. Dont think the vacuum could get it through the filter. Also he said you cannot use homonogized oil(hope I spelled it right) which is the most common oil avail for free. B100 runs fine in warm weather.

So far this year I've run two tanks of B80 -- no operational problems at all, but I bled a lot of air out of the filter. Lift pump coming soon.

True Biodiesel should be EXACTLY the same viscosity as dino-D. Your engine shouldn't have any more problems inhaling that than it does with the dinosaurs. I've run several tanks of B100 on mine, and I'm running B50 right now without any problems... And I don't have a lift pump. I haven't noticed any fueling problems at all.

Now, if you are talking about people trying to use this Diesel Secret Snake Oil... Then I don't think a lift pump is going to help. Anyone using that stuff doesn't need a lift pump, they need a replacement for the lobotomy that happened!

Diesel secret does NOT make biodiesel, it makes PROBLEMS.

I'm sorry, that's just not the case. The viscosity of my biodiesel is noticably greater than that of pump diesel running through my fingers, and in general can be 2 to 3 times more viscous, depending on the feedstock. Also I didn't say I was having fueling problems, I just get more air out of my filter when I bleed it every other week. (I'm tired of bleeding.)
