hi,
i have a 2003 2.5 crd with a 2 inch coilspacerlift
a few weeks after i installed the lift, one of the front shocks didnt work nomore :( ,
it was during some offroading that i noticed it.
they had about 30 000kms
is this normal?
should i replace with the stock ones?
are there better ( and longer) shocks available in europe?

From what I believe is that the lift stretches them farther than they can go so inorder to fix this you need longer shocks.

They have the rancho shocks which are pretty nice.

Not to be a "Richard", but you don't have shocks on your front suspension. You have struts. When you go looking at the stores and such, make sure you are buying struts, not shocks.

Pretty much all front struts are the same length. Not sure why yours went, but suspension geometry (length of control arms, etc) is what limits travel really. No so much the strut. Yes, in the factory setup the strut is what limits the amount of droop. If it was drooped much further the upper a-arm and the upper ball joint would run right into the spring. You want something to stop it, before the contact happens. In some aftermakert setups we use a new strut top plate, which ends up allowing just a little more droop (also changes preload); then lower bump stops need to be added.

Anyways, if you go with some Rancho RSX 17505 I think you will be fine. They are much more beefier than stock. The piston rod looks almost twice the size, plus they ride nicer.

Rear shocks are a different story. You can benefit from longer ones. Go with the Rancho RSX 17004. They are not listed for the KJ but are the perfect length and have the correct size eyes.

Haha, how could i not see that mistake, doh! I was going along with the shock idea, and forgot to change my set of words from shocks to struts
