Not sure what it's like where Uffe lives, but if you are in a city with a decent light-rail system and roads that are designed to be shared with bikes/pedestrians, it isn't too bad. Taking the train to work, reading the newspaper in the morning, doing some recreational reading the afternoon, etc... ain't too bad.
Bikes might help with the health care woes America currently suffers. Of course, I'm sure McDonalds would find a way to market a bike-window-drive-through-heart-attack-burger.
