I'm at a crossroads right now. I love my Jeep and don't really care about the gas mileage but my wife just told me that I could look into a 2009 Dodge Challenger SRT8. To get it though, I would have to sell the Jeep. The Challenger is essentially my dream car and has been since before the concept was even thought of. I used to own a 1970 Challenger, a 1969 Roadrunner clone, and a numbers matching 1969 Charger. I always loved the Challenger the most and wanted to build one that had 400+ hp, 400+ tq, could pull 1.0G on the skid pad, and could stop in less than 130' from 60mph. This Challenger can do almost all of those things (not sure about the 1.0G).
But I love my Jeep (don't need to explain why to you guys, you get it already).
That, sir, is what is considered an 'untenable' position. On the one hand, you
already have a Jeep. There is an unwritten rule that states, "Every man, at some point in his life, will either have, or desire a Jeep". (Oops: I actually wrote it). Anyway, there is an equally strong belief, that every man should own at least one, righteous, ball-busting, Detroit muscle car. Having to give one up, in order to obtain the other, is cruel. Cruel, Cruel, Cruel.
I don't envy your position. And I DO envy your position.
Good luck, either way.
