At 15,450 I have joined the club of having a bad flow control valve  It sounds like a bumble bee  Definetly not the normal slight whir 8) I took the hose off and the flap is all oiled up despite my Pro-Vent. The flap is not stuck and springs open and moves back and forth just fine. The gears in the FCV are buzzing away. I've only driven it once since it started buzzing and am wondering if it eventually will give me a CEL? The maf is plugged in.

It will not give you a CEL. Just keep driving it. The FVC is like the appendix of a Jeep.

Do the ORM if it gets too annoying - Mine has been disconnected for 2 years now - for the same reason,

My FCV crapped out and all I notice are rougher shutdowns. I took the intercooler hose off and the butterfly was locked in the open position. It doesn't make a lot of noise, it just sounds different after you turn off the engine - a different pitch buzz and no click. After about 4 months the CEL came on with P1140, which I found oldnavy had when he had a bad FCV. Butterfly is still locked open though, so something in its circuitry must have finally given out.
