The muffler is huge - you could do it by cutting the tailpipe from the muffler, or maybe by removing the tire and shock absorber - how 'bout jacking the project up, using the ramps under two of the wheels instead of the jack-stands?

I got the Magnaflow 15870 cat-back system installed today! I jacked up the passenger side by the frame rail to get the rear suspension to droop (and stuffed a jackstand in there for safety, of course). However, I wasn't able to get the rear suspension to full droop, and there wasn't enough freedom to get the stock exhaust out in one piece. The sawzall handily solved that problem, and the new exhaust went on just as easily as the factory exhaust came off thanks to also being in two pieces. I was sure to use anti-seize on the four threaded connections as good preventative medicine. The rear tip is pressed up against the rear plastic a bit, but I'll play with it later if it bothers me enough.

My wife took the CRD for a spin and said it's more responsive from a stop, and required less go-pedal effort to go up hills (particularly when trying to maintain lockup up a hill). She likes the sound, says it's not really louder but more like the factory exhaust "went through puberty" (her words!). Money well spent.

Hi STATELINE, that's a bummer. I wonder if you contacted him and asked if he would do a special deal for Lost KJ forum members, if he'd cut you a break? He was a very nice guy when I dealt with him for my system.

How were they to deal with? Is it an offbrand or factory second?

email them about the item, said it is Magnaflow part #15870, didn't ask if it was a factory second, but they said brand new in package

I'll have to do that. It says they can't advertise the brand due to price. So is that what you got was the SS Magnaflow?

I put on a Dynomax Kit And I See No Diffrence In The Cabin. I Was Worried Myself But It's Nice For The Price.

I bought the Dynomax kit from Summit Racing for $235 http://store.summitracing.com/partdetail.asp?autofilter=1&part=WLK%2D19392&N=700+4294806411+115&autoview=sku since they're 3 miles from here. Installed in about... 20 minutes. The gains were not so much in the "butt dyno" as that the engine runs a LOT smoother, and when you let off the petrol, it coasts much more freely. I picked up an immediate 1.2 mpg gain and a slightly better sound... After an 1800 mile highway trip, the tone is MUCH improved and I'm quite pleased with it.

got the Magnaflow Friday, installed it yesterday morning :D :D it's just what I wanted, just ever so slightly louder than stock, I also made sure my cat was clean (by driving a bar thru it making sure it wasn't clogged   ) no drone or anything, seems as though I can hear the turbo spooling more now. very, very easy installation, I'll report back if it makes any diff. in mpg, I'm willing to guess .5-1 mpg better, we'll see.

I take it the install went well, sounds like it worked out well. They sent me an email saying they are new magnaflows however magnaflow is having a hard time keeping up with demand and they are backordered for a while

Maybe in the mean time I should check and see if the cat is clean.

Magnaflow arrived and the install went well. I had the tank out to do the lift pump arm fix and figured since things were going well I'd tackle that at the same time. Was able to unwind the factory unit out w/o cutting and get everything bolted back into place. It doesn't appear the 3.7l exhaust is a perfect match to the factory but it installed easily and seems to work well without interference. Exhaust sounds great and can't tell the difference in the cab. Thanks for the tip! :D
