Cowpie.
The fellow accross the street is a finance guy for a large Honda dealer. He and I have talked about warranty plans before. His problem is the dealership makes more money on the aftermarket plans so his higher ups want him to push them. They don't see what goes on when the customer has a problem, he does. The biggest problem is getting them to approve work. In his opinion the manufacturors extended warranty is the best deal for all parties even thought the dealer does not make as much money on the deal. He previously worked for a Nissan dealer and ran into the same situation. Added to that there has been more then one company going broke or selling the contracts to a off shore company that dries up. That is not to say that Chrysler can't go belly up eather.
But as some here have found not all Chrysler plans are the same. Like only one covers our EGR valves. This is the first one I've ever gotten one on and I know they are making money on it or they wouldn't be offering it.
My two cents and your mileage may vary
