LOL ... I think that when CR said the CRD got 11 mpg they were inhaling the fumes from the exhaust.. You can see my mileage after going through the mountains and over Monarch to Ouray. This was taken after I had let it do its cool down. It was at 17 when I got there....

Impressive. One of the reasons I want a CRD is so I can tow my Wrangler. Glad to see it can handle it!

I think there was some money changing hands for that 11MPG report. They're trying to kill biodiesel again like they did when they threw Rudolph Diesel over the side of that boat.

Maybe CR sat the CRD in a parking lot, tranny in N, and a brick on the throttle. That's the only way I can see them getting 11.

Thanks for the post and picts. I'm glad to see your towing excursion went well. The KJ isn't dropping in the back much at all with that load on.

They disconnected the fuel line from the tank and plumbed it into a container with a measured amount, they didn't know that excess fuel is re-routed to the tank so that return fuel line wasn't plumbed into their container. It seems they didn't know that on average about 50% (depending on engine speed) of the fuel is always returned to the tank and when questioned about that they said they stand by there report. I've seen the same type of reporting by them over the years on car's, oil, TV's, and stereo's.

I would not buy anything they recommended.
