It just found out that the QLD government is giving a discount on petrol to all Queenslanders, why doesn’t NSW take a feather and do the same down here  (I don't get to watch the news very often so this may be old news to many)

Not that old, we've only been doing it for about 20 years! Well, maybe that's a slight exaggeration.

Well thats a good price, even with the amazing govt rebate it was 159 at most stations I passed on the way here today.

Doesn't matter what happens and what tax cuts we get, suddenly the price just goes back up reguardless. Somebody is getting very rich.

Doesn't help that for every Litre we buy, even though we already pay tax and sales tax on the stuff we pay about 60 in fuel tax. Govt says they are trying to do something about fuel, but, every time oil goes up, they get half the extra profit. Free money to them.

The fuel companies pay the full excise to the Feds, then the Qld gov gives them back 8.35c for each litre. Theoretically they are supposed to pass that on to the customer but there has been a lot of stink recently about them not passing on the full amount.

In general, when the average fuel prices are published each day, Qld is around 8-8.5c cheaper than the other eastern states.

When I first moved to QLD (11yrs ago) , the difference between NSW & QLD was 73c (NSW) Vs 55c (QLD). Some how that gap seems to have closed somewhat

When I was in Perth last week I saw a Gull(?) servo offering biodiesel at 2c less than mineral diesel. If that was 100% bio they must be making a good profit as it shouldn't be affected by the world oil price and SAFF in SA was selling bio for about the same price as diesel 5 years ago.

Gull is upto 20% bio 80% dino, you can buy 100% bio in Perth but its not from a servo.

Little disappointed you didnt let me know you were coming over & let us WA boys take you out on some of our favourite tracks... Oh well next time.

Got in midnight Thursday, spent all Friday at a pipeline seminar, flew out 7:30am Saturday. Somehow it didn't make sense to get you guys all worked up about it!

This morning drove past one of those Caltex/woolies servos

Unleaded was 150.9 and on the sign as 146.9 with the discount card. Funny thing was further down the road was a Caltex not connected with woolies and unleaded was simpily 146.9...

Makes you think hey... I thought the discount was to give you cheaper fuel, not to rip folks off. Great scam, put the price up 4c so as when you give the discount it falls into line with correct pricing and you think you have saved.

IS there LPG conversion available for the KJ?????
