I found this video that details the capabilities of the ESP very well. The title is "2007 Jeep Commander, Simulated Off-Road Capabilities" but here is the link
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Im7_MKP4 ... re=related

Very impressive.

Nice video.

I have a friend with a ton, and I mean a ton, of off-road experience who was very surprised at his wife's '07 ESP Liberty 4x4. He said he would prefer Detroits front & rear, but for a stock, very streetable rig on junk tires it is unbeleivable.

I've seen it before. The presenter is terrible.

yeah been there done that ,even built the obstacles
for some reason we get 2 or 3 KJ including my wife
but last year we had 5 or so FJ's and next year I am betting on 10 FJ's and the same KJ's

here is a clip of some "test runs"
an ESP KJ can do the "twister" but a nonESP KJ gets "owned"
how ever our OME'd KJ can easily do the log pile but some TJ's and YJ's can not ,open and poor tires ,and stock FJ's can not even get on it where a stock KJ can

Kool little video.
I loved how the Commander bottomed out on the crest of that one track.

If he gets a 4wd with the rear locker NO ,only on approach and only if he is shy about bottoming out
if he is not scared to bottom out on the front skid he will "walk" the trails that you will have problems with
