A MileMarker Winch is just a few more bucks than a lunchbox style locker. I'm not saying a winch is a substitute for traction, but I do agree with the wise-man's saying.

There's a whole lot of truth in that statement.

exactly like get stuck far away from home bc of the lockers then use the winch so you can make it home  jk, but that is a good point

Correct me if I’m wrong, but don’t you want to make sure that the brand you’re buying are made of good quality? Or, is a gear a gear no matter the brand loyalty?

The only 2 confirmed makers of D30A gears is Dana/Spicer(OEM) and Precision gears, that's it.

So Rieder Racing is selling either Dana/Spicer or Precision gears? Any other good places to order from?

If it helps anyone I have the Powertrax in and with a solid day of wheelin' on it I have to say it is a very nice performing unit. Great offroad, silent on pavement.

I've said the same for the past year or so now. A lot of the folks I was wheeling with this weekend saw it first hand. Powertrax is a great unit for the KJ.

meh_kick has had his for a year, and Eddo for at least three, and i've neaver heard about a single problem from either of them. look, i drive the aussie in the front of my wrangler and i love it, but i will admit that the powertrax is good too.

I sent Aussie an email again asking where they are with the 8.25" locker for the KJ and this is what I recieved this morning:

We had a problem with one of the beta installs. One install went perfect
and one did not so we identified the root cause and issued a corrective
action. That is now in process and we are hoping that in about three
weeks we can announce an expected date for the new units to be in the
USA inventory.
