I went to their East Dundee office at lunchtime and talked with their office manager. I told her who I was, who I represent, explained the situation to her, told her who I had sent an e-mail to, etc. I also told her that I hadn't gotten a response ye so I thought I'd personally visit the office.

Keeping in mind that she does not have the ability to authorize whether we can or can't be on the Ryland land, she did say that the land in question is not currently being developed, and that they don't have Ryland representatives in that area yet. She said that she couldn't see a problem with us being there so long as we're not damaging the property, being a disturbance to the neighboring businesses, or taking part in wrongdoing. She also said that if Ryland had already noticed the activity on the trails and thought it to be a problem, the trails would be blocked or have chains across the entrances.

So, I guess I'm still in the same place with this as before. We've not received official permission, but on the same token, we've almost been told it's okay to be there. I don't know what to do at this point.

Bakerkj (re: your PM), if you want to pull some strings on your end, any help would really be appreciated. I feel like I'm just spinning my wheels here.[/i]

Yea I think that they woulkd probaly be blocked off by now, I saw 4 wranglers come out of the foutains entrance on my way to the pool store up the street and they were all muddy, I don't think they were at the retirement home.:D I don't think we would get in trouble for going but as jayme said we didn't get "offical Permission"

Ahh I just want to wheel so bad I just don't want to drive 3 hours to the badlands! This would be great to have a nice set of trails so close to home. Cross your Fingers!

Oh, if I do happen to get a more official response from someone, I'll let everyone know. For now, I'm just going to let the e-mail and the voice mail message I left ride...

By "ride" do you mean you're willing to chance it?
After all, what can happen? We get told to leave?

I talked to the police Chief today. He said there are no tresspassing signs up in several locations. They don't stake out the property, but if the neighbors complain, they go out and arrest whoever is there.

I do have a call into the one of the VP's at Ryland. The only way to guarantee you won't get arrested is to have permission in writting which I am trying to get.

Just curious? -- After reading this, I was wondering what the outcome was? I haven't gone there, but I know the location from some of the previous comments.

Where? C'mon, spill it, or we may have to torture you.

Joking aside, at this point, I would be game for light easy trails, but I need front tow hooks (at least). The '02 Liberty I bought has no recovery point(s) up front? But for mods, it has a Kilby gas tank skid, and a Hidden Hitch receiver in the rear -- Figure that one out? Anyway, I might be interested.
