I'm already a KOA member, but I wanted to know if any of you liked being a member of the Good Sam Club.

I used to be a good sam member. I let it lapse as we really only hit corps of enineer campsites. it gave a few bucks off a some privately owned sites. it also gives $.02 off fuel at pilot stations. Too bad there aren't any near me.

The Good Sam club is a good thing to have IF you do a lot of camping. Escapees is a much better club. They have campground discounts also but a lot more. They have their own campgrounds, members that will allow you to spend the at their place, etc.

Thanks everyone, I didn’t realize how many RV clubs are out there. The wife said we should just stick with KOA. KOA has a reward card and you can rack up points that can be used towards free overnight stays, etc. KOA has also expanded into insurance, loans, and other RV related stuff. The Good Sam Club fights to keep 4x4 and other backcountry trails open. Other Club benefits include campground discounts, subscription to magazines, emergency road service, trip planning, fuel and restaurant discounts, discounts on RV parts and accessories, RV accident protection, etc. I guess I like to take advantage of all the good stuff! :D

The Good Sam Club's emergency road service is tops! Example: If you have a motorhome on a Ford chassis and break down, they won't have you towed to just any Ford dealer. It has to be one that can handle, and work on, a motorhome. Most other companies won't do that.

I was a member at one time. My father in law was a member too. He spent a lot of money on some of their insurance offers and got totally screwed when it came time to try to make a claim. The person we talked too even told us "this isn't very good insurance and we don't pay out very often". I won't be their customer again.

Are you referring to the Good Sam club?
