Here in Oz a lot of us use HF radio for emergency communication in the outback, and I recently had both HF and a UHF CB fitted. The aerials mounted nicely on the TJM front bar.

The HF is the one on the right - only the autotune base is shown, the 6' whip that screws on the top is not fitted for the photo.

Very Cool.

That bumper looks like aluminum. Is that just the paint?

Holy...! That HF antenna is HUGE! I thought you had two snorkels when I first looked.

That front bumper is beautiful!

The bit you can see is the autotune base which automatically tunes the antenna to the frequency you have selected on the radio - there's a 6' stainless steel whip that screws on top of that.

Yes, I like it.

Sorry for so many questions, but...

Is the HF autotune base flexible at all? What is the range of the HF antenna (with whip attached)? How many frequencies? Is it satellite communication, or tower-based? Is it in country-wide use?

Who is the manufacturer of your front bumper?

Oh, and is that the ARB snorkel?

By the way, I'm jealous of your 6-speed manual. Not as if that makes any difference, but...well, I'm REALLY jealous.

You won't find my bar on the TJM website, for some reason. This is it. Part number is 074AP17N36Q

Airflow snorkel is made by Gibson. Fitting is best left to an expert as it involves cutting through three layers of bodywork to get into the side of the airbox.

The HF radio is mounted right at the back and the cables come up through the floor area

but I have to say I haven't yet bothered to crawl underneath to see just how the fitter routed them!
