taking off the inside of the doors to put in new Dual speakers and it went well but theres a rod that hooks to the door handle can i take this off?

Are you asking if you can remove it permanently? You can, but then you have to get in the vehicle "Dukes of Hazzard" style. Either that or open it from the outside.

nooo i mean can i take the door of the rod somehow so itll be easier to work on my speakers or no? definetly temporary

yes pop the rod out of the clip part of the plastic, and the end of it will slide right out. reinstall is the reverse.

I've installed many door speakers than I can remember over my 15 year (now retired) car audio career. This includes complete rebuild door panels and I have never felt the need to remove the door to do the work.

I'm pretty sure he is refering to the interior plastic panel so that he can access the speakers easier.

Ok. that makes more sense. When I read "and it went well" I took that to be past tense and thought you had completed the install already. Which is why I couldn't figure out why you would want to take the rod off after the install was complete. :lol:
