T'was a delightful day Arhhhh.

We should have thought ahead a little more and had those clevis rings to do the lift in the front whilst we had it apart. Then we could have popped in a 10mm packer in the rears and done a complete 10mm allround lift enhancement.

Now, whos up for doing a rear tri-link ball jopint replacement on mine..

Whatever help I can be........maybe next week end. I'm a pretty good goffer

Twas a delightful day to be sure. Every thing seemed to go well...........except breaking a screw which I just remembered (as writing)I should have got this morning .......ooops :!: Shall just duck off now and get it before I forget again.

JaG's Greatful thanks to Cmohr/Fros Road side assist crew. 8)

Fraser will be the test Iam sure. Bring it on

I believe it may have saved around a days labour at the work shop...... depending on the hourly rates charged somewhere between $7-900. Though I could be wrong.

Think youself better off than that, I had the ring and pinion changed on my 4runner at a diff shop before I got rid of it and got the CRD and that cost me $1000 in parts and install. And my mate busted the front diff on his hilux, sheared the teeth and warped/cracked the diff housing also totally stuffed an ARB airlocker to the point of bending the shaft pins that do the locking part and CV shaft splines. Had my mechanic who works for Chrysler/Mercedes Benz do the work off the books and used a 2nd hand diff housing and that still costed $2000 with 2 days on a hoist out the back waiting to get parts Toyota wanted $3500 for a complete front diff. So yeah you would have saved a heap.

Any real stand out cause as to the failure?

Great work on the Dif replacement. Looks way too hard to me, give me a coffee machine to repair any day.

so how many hands did it take? When we did jerbachers we had me and then two ( jerbacher and Sean150) who had never done anything like that before so I joked that it was like 1.75 men ( just kidding Sean and Jon) but it all went well ,except broke one of the front bolts that does the alignment and holds the lower control arm on, had to go buy a new one etc ! and lots of myd , would of thought he was out 4 wheeling or something!

Glad you "mates" got it in and it doesn't run backwards

I have tallked with a bloke just around the corner here at work about CV boots.. I'll drop Gregs old shaft in next week to have them look at it. He's talking about a hi-temp heavey duty "racing" boot. somewhere around the 35.00 mark, plus fitting of course, but, still thats 10 times cheaper than "JEEP" pricing.

Stay tuned for more adventures Listeners.

Oil is tracking down that Plastic drip channel that we removed to get at the diff housing, then dripping through the access hole of the skid plate. Dip stick is reading approx 2-3mm below full on the stick. :!:
