Hey Wally,

Check the link I put on my first post before you go get one from someone... but it's an SS170. Quinn can get one for you, and I'll get it to you damned cheap if you guys wanna test fit one.

Drop me an email at work, you can get it from Clint if you're gonna try it.

If you can get me your contact info, I'd be willing to try one out on the wife's Liberty. She saw the snorkel on my TJ and loved it. I know that being up here in Alaska, the snorkel helps, even just balzing down the highway.

I'd be more than happy to take lots of pics, measurements and let you know what I do to get it working. Based on the pic you posted, it looks like that one would work. You said some heat would let me rebend/reform the exterior tube as needed right?? The antenna is the only thing that concerns me since the Liberty antennas are a little lower on the sides than Tacomas. Still doesn't look that involved.

I got my snorkel to work on my TJ and it has flatfenders, rockrails, dual batteries and a motor mount lift.

I don't buy the dust thing. We're not racing through the desert at high speeds. When we're off roading on dusty trails, dust if EVERYWHERE. That's why g-d invented air filters. No biggie.

Snorkel is for water when off roading. If you're racing, then you have a whole host of other issues like air volume. But then we're not talking about snorkels, we're talking about scoops.

The KJ's air box inlet is very high. As high as possible stock. The air or any water, would come in and fall to the bottom of the box, where there are drain holes. The filter would continue to skim water off the top for SHORT periods of water fording above the hood. If you're in water that deep for that long (not talking about that big splash that covers your hood), then did you already relocate ALL your breathers? If so, please tell me how you were able to reach the one on the tranny without removing it because I NEED TO KNOW!

That all said, a snorkel is kewl looking. So Wally, where's the pics?

No one asked for my opinion but I think that looks pretty rediclious. I'll stick with the airbox for now, and upgrade to a higher performance intake sometime in the future. What's the point putting a snorkel on a truck that you're not going to get deep enough to need a snorkel anyway?

I'll be honest with you, reason numero uno is because I like the way it looks.
