I measured the tranny fluid temperatures to get a feel for pump flow performance before and after my Suncoast install this weekend. I have an aux tranny cooler installed already.

The inlet is the temperature from the tranny into the auxillary cooler.
The outletis the temperture from the auxillary cooler to the stock cooler on its way back to the tranny

See reults below (ambient air was 85 F, sunny dry weather);



Interesting;
1. the peak temp of 180 F is a bit high, dont you think?
2. The typical temperature difference of inlet to outlet is about 10F which seems low? Maybe the flow rate is low? This is the effectiveness of the auxillary cooler. The Stock cooler will be pulling it down some more

Do you have a thermal bypass installed?
The abrupt peaks and valleys suggest you do. If not, what do you suppose is going on?

My thermal bypass is designed to open at 180F.

I towed today with the old cooler installed. No temp change noted.
My new cooler will be connected when I decide on a transmission temperature gauge. Too many choices.

My other car is a VW Eurovan and the transmissions are very over worked on them. The temperature question comes up all the time. It seems that 220f is the danger point

That there is a fancy graph. I am surprised that the difference between inlet and outlet is so low at 85 ambient. It is only cooling by 20 degrees. Is that after both coolers or just one?
