Has anybody had any problems with their power mirrors?

The fuse is good on my KJ, but the mirrors move just a little when trying to adjust them. I suspect maybe a bad switch.

Does anyone have any experience pulling the driver's door panel off to change the switch, or any trouble shooting tips?

Thanks for any inputs.

If they move, even if a little, then the switch is good. Most likely got some crud inside the housing and it's messing up the gears(they are plastic).

Thanks for the reply. I got the garden hose out and set it for a strong steady stream and shot the inside of the housing out. No change. There is a little initial movement, then nothing. Both mirrors are doing it.

I didn't see an easy way to remove the mirror from the housing to clean it out better. Any more suggestions???

I just pulled the door panel off and checked the switch. It's getting power. I'm still shaking my head that BOTH mirrors went bad at the same time.....

Hmmm, I thought I was the only one...I have had this problem for about 3 years. They move a little bit and then just stop. It is weird.....some days they work perfect and on most other days they do this lame thing. I just move hem by hand

You just descibed 'exactly' what my mirrors are doing. Both Beth and I drive her KJ, we are always adjusting the mirrors. Readjusting by hand is a pain, especially in the dark when she leaves for work at 0430. I ordered two new mirrors, we'll see what happens.

Thanks for your reply.

Did your new mirrors work?
I have been chasing the same issue for a while now.

I too have this exact same issue and I'm sure a lot of us have this problem but It's not like I move them on a daily basis.

My mirrors quit working for about a day and wouldn't do anything. They wouldn't move at all. Then one day they just started working normally. I didn't do anything to them. I have no idea what the problem was, but they're working again.
