actually no, there are four studs at each mounting point. The flat rail just snaps on top of the studs with some plastic fasteners. The rack side rails are held on with steel acorn style nuts, eight total.
Like I said before the hardest part putting these on was taking the old one off and cleaning the glue and tape off. Don't plan on saving those flat rail either because you pretty much have to destroy them taking them off.
One secret to removing the tape is to buy some 3M adhesive remover and soak the tape with it.

Could you post some pictures of the final installation when you get a chance? I want to take a look at yours to see how it looks so I can do the exact same thing to mine. Thanks in advance.

Thats awesome can't wait for the pix. I also was thinking that if I put some sort of a longer length drop bracket to raise the roof basket up that the best of both worlds could be had.

Q: Ways to butch up the KK

A: Wheels & tires, exhaust, susp. lift, debadge or rebadge, front and rear custom bumpers, lights, FS spare, rubber floor mats (the Jeep ones) etc...

I would recommend doing the intake and ignition too, if you've got the dough.
