We missed having some folks from L.O.S.T. or JeepKJ Country along for our 'High Altitude Expedition ~ 2008'. We did join up with my old Air Force buddy from Colorado Springs. We had a great time. The trip was more scenic than technical. The trails we did were not difficult, just a lot of rocks and sheer cliffs which are not for the faint of heart.

Just for planning purposes, the trip is not what I consider cheap. Gas food and lodging are expesive in and around Ouray. The six day trip cost us $1,350.00 for a room at the Comfort Inn at Ouray, food and gas. Gas was $4.17 a gallon up there. It's not a cheap area to play in.

Enjoy the pics....

Thanks! Example #2... too much sharpness, looks grainy on my monitor.

Okay... if I tell you they are HDR, you won't be impressed? Geez, I like impressed, but I guess I have to come clean. There's a tad of HDR post processing.

Taken with a Nikon D80 and a Nikkor 18~200mm DX/VR lens.

LOL, sorry thats not what I meant, they are great pics! The D80 is a nice camera. my gf just got me a nice 2 lens D60 setup and I'm more than happy! Now I just have to figure out how to use it, I haven't used a manual camera in years, its hard going back once you've used a point and click digi for so long.
